These people refuse to cancel your service! I told them I was not under contract with them and demanded over and over that they close my account. I will have to close my current bank account and open up a new one due to these people. Its sad that companies are now resorting to LEGAL EXTORTION of comsumers and pushing the envelope, just to make a dollar.

I am shocked that I am the only one that net zero keeps charging even though I cancelled the account. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau here http://www.la.bbb.org/Home.aspx
I am filing a complaint with the state of CA attorney general here
http://ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php?cmplt=CL and I will be filing a complaint with the federal trade commission and the federal communications commission.
I have filed fraud charges with my credit card company and suggest that might be a route you check out too.

I just cancelled my service with NetZero, their software is junk and problems with connecting. The NetZero customer service representative didn't want to cancel my service and then offered something else I didn't want and said it would start August 1 for $4.95 ... I said No several times and even after I asked what about NO she didn't understand and why she was wanting to do something I didn't want - she was still in denial about it ... It was crazy ...

I too have been victimized my NetZero..I canceled my service in February but I am still being charged which has caused numerous overfraft fees. Im looking over the comments and Im going to take the necessary measures to make sure that they are reported.
I havent seen one good comment about this company and thats a shame. I regret I ever got this service. To top it all off the service sucked. Im sorry for everyone who encountered NetZERO including myself. They will be handled by a higher power.

I am intending to research the ideas of filing formal complaints with the FTC and BBB within the week. I plan to list my findings on this post. I was told today that I would receive more immediate results by emailing the following EMAIL: abuse@support.netzero.com

I, too, have been mishandled as a Netzero customer. In January, I called to cancel my service; the rep insisted that I reconsider and said that she would setup MEGA MAIL for 90 days. I refused the service. I asked for my billing/credit card information to be removed from their database. She assured me that it was. In May, we found out that the email address was still active (beyond the 90 days) and that our card had been charged for service. I called to cancel and was again assured that my account was cancelled; however, I would be able to access my account for the next 60 days as a grace period. I adamantly opposed this suggestion to find out upon further discussion that it is company policy.

I informed the rep that I would be contacting the BBB and FTC and had read similar complaints from customers online. The rep said that my card account would be refunded within 72 hours - we'll see if it is refunded. Also, he told me that I would need to email the following address for more immediate action and should not take further action again the company. EMAIL: abuse@support.netzero.com

I'm having the same issue's. I think everyone should come together and flood the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with complaints. Also start a class-action lawsuit. Text me at 312-533-5941

I have called you on two occasions to cancel my service. You still insist on taking money from my credit card account without permission. Am I going to have to file a complaint with the FCC to get you to quit? You have a shoddy product and make up the difference by hijacking people on your customer service charges($1.95min.)So far,I've spent over $61.00 for about two wk.s with you.Just do the right thing and make it right... J.D.

WOW! I see I'm not the only one net zero has screwed. I'm having the same issue w/ them charging me for services I never received and they refuse to refund my money. I never even received the start-up package they were supposed to send! I hope everyone else has made a call to the BBB because I am first thing in the morning! These guys are a bunch of crooks! I called the customer service line and I was told that I was being charged for the "availability" of the service and not for the "use" of it!!! Can you believe that s@#*!!!!!

I cancelled my account several years ago. THey started to take money out of my checking account last year, I had the bank change my account number even though my bank said that was not needed. Well, I started getting emails again from netzero saying they need an account to pay for my netzero service. They were not able to access my account. Thank god, I changed it. I replied to there email request for update to my account with my explaination. I got an automated request for update to my bank account. This is the worst company I have dealt with. I might of used them again, but now I will not and I will tell everyone watch out.
