Went to goodwill today to get some books. Picked out 1 for the baby, 5 for my son, and 2 vintage cookbooks for my teenage daughter. My son is in 1st grade and can read simple sentences. I got him 4 Narwhal books that are for young readers(says it on the back of the books). The cashier said that 3 of the 4 books that where all from the same series where adult books. I told her "no these are childrens books and where in the childrens book section". Then proceeded to ring them up and told us the price of every other book and asking "you still wsnt it?".This women was so rude from the moment we walked in and every interaction we had with her. She kept making grunting noise under her breath like she was annoyed. After she walked away, I tried to talk to the other cashier and she came back over and gave nasty looks and grunt some more because I was telling the other cashier how we where overcharged and how rude that cashier was. This was in kernersville, nc 3/13/2024 The receipt says Dkirby was the sales rep. That women either needs to fix her attitude or find another job.

Why does goodwill no longer allow you to return items to a different store if you have a receipt and in the 3 day window. All this stuff being donated and then the price put on items is ridiculous. Not to mention you are getting picky on what you except. But you'll allow a soiled, broken smelly couch, rugs and other stuff that should be put in a dumpster to be tagged and placed out on the floor ro be sold. Tanktops and top that cover just your boobs sold for a shirt price. Not all shoes are marked fairly and many needs to be thrown away. Someone need to check keep an eye out when putting merchandise out for broken items safety reasons.

I am a long time goodwill shopper and have donated many things over the years . However .. goodwill seems to have lost touch with basic morals and intelligence over their no price tag no sale policy .
Why does it seem worthwhile to infuriate countless customers who are there to buy items goodwill gets for free ..only to be told if it has no sticker tag..no one can just go fix it..it can take days .
Meanwhile another sale is lost ..another customer is red faced in disgust .
It's horrible to put employees in this position and the most stupid sales and public relations concept ever to manifest in a thrift store.

It's supposed to stop thieves from switching prices ? Then stop using stickers that fall off . Have a general barcode for certain items ..and just be fair.

Go ahead and keep selling the free merchandise for your own profit but stop treating employees and customers like serfs who don't deserve to buy what is on the shelves or to be able to call a manager to settle any questions.
All other stores figure out a price when needed. They don't block the sale. Why is it only goodwill?

I was told it's to keep track of sales. They barcode is king . It's Always the computer that can and will fail a business due to faulty stickers .

For a good idea ..be reasonable . Start showing appreciation for all the customer base that keeps you in business .

Note but crooks. I shopped at Goodwill for many many years
Always finding great deals for quantity goods. then you got greedy might not have been so distaste if you kept your mission alive. But now because of your lack of integrity I won't donate anything to goodwill. Your hunger for money for items that are DONATED to you is revolting.?I won't shop there anymore because of your blatant dishonesty and incompetence

Sold me a broken VCR even though they told me it worked. The supervisor did not let me exchange it even though they told me it worked and even tested it in the back. I did not see them test it. The only good part was the electronics guy who was very understanding.
