The USPS Toll Free Number at 800-275-8777 is a Voice Response Unit (VRU) programmed with insufficient options to handle standard business (e.g. schedule a package pick-up). Pressing 0 once or more does not get through to a live person, nor does asking for "Operater" or "Agent" or "Customer Service." What did work was a loud stream of PROFANITY at which the computer said, "It appears you wish to speak with a Customer Service Agent." When I responded "yes", the computer announced my wait time on hold to speak to a live agent would be "over 1 hour", then played a commercial followed by music but with no option for their system to call back when a live agent became available. As others have pointed out, no wonder the U.S. Postal Service is going out of business. Their customer service and automation are not set up to give timely service or be user friendly.

I had three items that I verified with the recipients that USPS has over charged me for shipping. Your automated system is junk. You have made it a huge hassle to attempt to get a refund. The only way I can fight back is to boycott the US mail and cost you money. My bills are now being sent electronically, and whenever possible I will choose fedex or UPS.

Holly post office lost my key.went to return the other two and they wouldnt give me my deposit and yes i paid 50 bucks and the lady said i didn't and now im stuck with keys

Hitting 0 doesn't do anything anymore. They've updated their system so it just repeats "sorry I didn't get that" when you hit 0, no matter what menu you're on.

Put on hold for an agent. System generated message told me the expected hold time was 3 hrs 40 min to 3 hrs 50 min! No wonder they are going out of business.
