I recently took out a Lifeline service phone with Alltel. And already they have dropped the ball with me, AND my upstairs neighbor as well, 3 months out of four. To top it off, a chit of a girl "sales assistant" at the local Alltel store I originally went to asked me id I had thought about UPGRADING service! The implication was that "Lifeline was a problem for a lot of people, and the $40 per month plan would stop all that". That's a Federal Felony, and it's called Bait and Switch. That was made a crime in the 1972 Fair Credit Reporting Act, and again in the 1978 Telecommunications Act. I told this child this, and she got suspicious of me, and wouldn't give me anymore information. Here I was, trying to tell her NOT to do this, or she might go to jail (if she said it to the wrong person) and she got uppity with me! My neighbor asked me to drop off her monthly payment on the correct day at the Alltel store in Payette Idaho. Their computer was "offline" and they could not post the payment to my neighbor's account until two days from then! And then THEY TURNED OFF HER SERVICE!!! The bastards. I am going to make a formal complaint with the Idaho Public Utility Commission, and I am going to try very hard to see if I cannot impair Alltel's right to continue offering Lifeline service here in the Treasure Valley. That's a regulated form of service, even if it is offered by a Cellular company. I can only hope.

For months now, I've been having a religious experience with your company every time I try to pay my bill on line! One would think that you'd want to make this a fairly easy endeavor, but oddly you seem to want it to be an experiment in futility! I've just wasted 15 minutes trying once again to pay my bill online, without success. I will try again later, but sadly if this continues, you will shut off my phone service and I will be forced to go with another company. Hopefully one that likes to get paid!

I have just completed reading over 50 comments and found only 2 to be from a satisfied customer of Alltel Wireless. Well folks, this comment is from a dissatisfied satisfied customer of Alltel.
I have been with alltel for more than 12 years(my first wireless phone was a bagphone), and I was very satisfied with the wireless service until Alltell made some type change that involved Verizon. So I was told that my number was not picked up(or purchased ??) by Verison; and I would have to continue with Alltel under a new 2 year contract with new phones for a dollar per phone, or I could go with Verizon for about four hundred dollars after all charges were in for phones & activation fees, etc.
I thought it was a no brainer 2 dollars verses 4 hundred dollars!!!! I was reasured by the Alltel sales folks that my new phones would solve the problems that I was having since Verizon became part of the equation. Some problems were resolved with the new phones, but the constant drop call never ended. Alltel used to give credit for all dropped calls because they were just so good that there were very few dropped calls prior to their dealing with Verizon. I continuously get dropped. I can start a call with 3 bars showing and right in the middle of a conversation,be dropped with a message saying "Leaving Service Area" when I had not moved out of my chair. I could understand it if I was moble at the time, but the most movement would be switching the phone from one ear to the other. I too will be switching to another wireless service when my current contract is up at the end of August, but after reading one of the negative comments that said that Allel will not let Alltel customers to call me if I transfer my current phone number to my new carrier. Are there others that have had that proplem?

Alltel is AWFUL!! It sucks, I cannot stand the dropped calls, the never or forever sending messages!! One message sent once takes ten minutes to be received and its received more than 10 times. Alltels service is THE WORST out there!

I have been a Alltel customer for more than 10 years. Their service is really bad. I have droped call all of the time and the service for the smart phone is slow if it works at all. They have stopped sending bills for the second time and I can not get on my account in their web site again. Can not wait till I can dump them.

I have been a customer of altell's for about
10 yrs. Always had a contract service with
them . When my cell phone quit working tried there prepaid acct for my cell phone and opened a new phone service.This was a total night mare. I went into the store 11-22-11.
They were having troubles with there debit
card charging, in the process charged up my account with over 300.00 extra dollars and have not paid it back yet today is 1-12-12.
There policy is not to refund prepaid accounts. A policy that only benefits them.
I would have quit them but Verizon does not get service where I live . My phone service has been ok but I would pay cash and get a receipt any other transactions I have with them. I have yet to be refunded .

on my last three monthly statements there have been additional charges added for airtime & Dir. Assist. charges. I have never used dir assistance while being a customer of Alltel or Alltel's previous owner .

I find it very disturbing that these charges are added and I had to call each time to get the account adjustment. On January 3rd, 2012, yesterday, I called when I received my account statement and found again, $45.50 charges for Dir. Assisit had been charged to my account again. My account number is 10000007701551629. I was told by the customer service person that an investigation would be made and I would be notified of the findings.

I have never been late in my payments to Alltel or the previous owner since being a customer. However, I do not appreciate additional charges added to my account, since I do not use dir. assistance. I don't even know how to use that service.

I am requesting that my account statement which is due january 14,2012, be adjusted for the $45.50 plus the taxesthat has been
added to by account either in error or
some other reason other than by me using the dir. assistance.
I will be checking with other wireless
companys that service my area for their plans. I do not want to leave Alltel, but with your billing practices have so many errors, I will have no other choice.

I CANNOT wait for my contract with this company to finally expire...it was the worst choice I ever made for cell phone service. Calls are constantly dropped in my home area, as well as when I'm on the road, and the billing is usually messed up also.

Have been an alltel cust. for years,recently I switched from alltel prepaid phone,to Straight Talk,after awhile i noticed that i can not receive calls from any Alltel customer..When an alltel cus. tries to call me,they are told,the no. your trying to dial is not a working number,after repeated attempts to call and retail store visits.all i get in response,is rude people,So beware on trying to transfer your phone no.For alltel will no longer recognize your phone no. About time for all of us to go back to a CB radio or telegraph system..I,ll give in and just change my number and when my internet contract expires i am done with ALLTEL !!!

Alltel billed me for months, I called customer service and billing for months wanting to know why I was being billed for a cell I never had. (I use T-Mobile) With only getting a run around when I would ask them to send me a copy of a contract I signed, they sent my name to a collection agenancy. The collection agenancy says I have to work with Alltel to correct this debt of $654.00 that is not even mine. I've called over 50 times and only get very rude people!! They say I will pay this bill or be sued, however reuse to send a copy of the contract I was suppose to of signed. Stay away from this company if you can people!!!!!!!!!

And Alltel clearly has no problem with BREAKING THE LAW.
I do not even have an account with you or Verizon. And yet, Alltel feels they need to call my home line and try to solicite my business. All of my numbers are not listed and are all registered both federally and with Oregon as DO NOT CALL numbers.
When you call customer service, you cannot get a real person... you just get shunted by message to Verizon. And the "Business" number on the website never answers.
Clearly a bad, bad, bad, company. I will report this to the proper law enforcement agency.

We were Alltel customers for years and are now served only by Verizon. We MUST talk to an Alltel customer service person though because $600 was taken/stolen from our bank account in August by your company after the switch. When the billing first appeared, we called Alltel and they agreed it was an error...HOWEVER, the money has now been deducted from our account!! We had that bill plus Verizon's.
We have been unable to reach any Alltel person for help resolving this issue. Our Verizon office likewise has been unable to connect with you.

Just had a horrible experience with Alltel in Findley Oh, the managers name is Nicole, she is worthless, we were sold phones by one of her salespeople and were told if we didnt get service bring them back no problem we would get a full refund, well got home guess what no service , I live 90 miles away, took phones back I was given 2.00 dollars back for the phones we had them a day and a half but my activation fees were not refundable and my 200.00 dollar deposit would be held thru the whole billing cycle then they would subtract the usage out of it then send us a check, our usage was trying to call each others phones throughout our yard and house to see if we could get service, we ask all the right questions but it doesnt matter when you are dealing with a liar, dont know how they can get away with this!!!!!!!!!!

After being on hold for customer service for 30 min I gave up. I just had a simple question. Why when I tx does it keep saying delivery incomplete when the message is going through? do i need to take my phone in?

I have been an Alltel customer for over 10 years and quite satisfied, NO LONGER! I have tried to connect with customer service regarding technical assistance since last Friday, numerous times, waited..minutes, hours..ridiculous. No one has ever responded. I called and did speak with a representative at the local store who said he heard they have hired many more rep., "but who knows when they will be trained, educated on assisting customers", took my complaint, said he would file a ticket but didn't know when it would be handled. We no longer have service in the area of our second home in WV, has never been a problem prior, in all the years, even when only a couple cell towers existed. So frustrating, any suggestions, recommendations for a new wireless provider?

I have spent several hours on the phone since 8:00am Monday morning trying to get through to customer service 800-255-8351 and have not been able to get through yet and now almost 9:30pm, only endless advertising loop and annoying music, never any answer all day long.

ditto on all the problems that are listed by others. Alltel's automated system says my last payment was made sept 2010. I've never missed a payment and have been with them about 15 years!!
The system will not let me make the payment currently owed. I never had problem before now. I've tried to contact someone 8 times now with no success. Anyone have any suggestions?

Alltel says that my monthly payment of 273.00 hasnt been paid since SEPTEMBER 2010!!! So how come you shut my phones off 2 days ago? -__-
Screw ups like these are un called for, especially when you go turn peoples phones off & disconnect the Customer Service & Billing line for over 24 hours!
Im worried sick now about my daughter who is home alone all day; & now without a phone, who is due for labor sometime this week.

PLEASE fix this problem ASAP!

So I have now been on hold for over half an hour to try for the 7th time to fix a problem with my billing. I have been trying to deal with this issue for a month now. I am so over ALTELL and will be calling the Corporate Offices in the morning for a formal complaint. If I get no results from them, I will have to hire a lawyer and deal with this issue in court.

I have tryed the 8oo number you have and the alltel number from the location we got our cell phones for the last two days and still can not get throught to a live person to ask about a problem me and my wife have been having with our cells.If there is a live person that can give us some information please call 912-632-8578.

ASof Friday the 29th of July my phone does not work due to alltell splitting from verizon, i cannot make cslls, get calls and cannot text, i called alltel 3 times and was told its a gliche in thier system and the engineers will have it fixed in 24 to 48 hours and guess what?? still no phone if its not fixed preety damn soon im going with straight talk, stupid alltell half of customers without phones due to theyr upgrade and they dont care,
