Thank you for a real-person option! Carrie and Mark were very helpful, as was the tech representative whose name I did not get. I have been deeply frustrated with this comåpany, yet because of my desire for a land-line, have seen no other alternatives for my area. Can't tell you how much I loathe monopolies.... At any rate, their customer service gave me hope, so thanks.

Earlier today I contacted your company as to a loyalty rewards discount. I have been a loyal customer and I am at 12 of 12 discounts. I was told that I could get a new loyal customer rewards for $39.00 a mo. only if I sign up for automated payment program. Being that I have a loyal payment history I told the person that I talked to I could see this for someone who does not pay on time. I told this person that I will not allow your company or any other company to take away my control of my payments. This is an insult to me as a loyal customer. I am however looking into changing to a different provider by the time this bill is due. I guess there is no reward for paying on time. Thank you C frimand

Working with this company is a NIGHTMARE. Everybody you talk to gives you a different answer. I don't know if it is flat out lies, bait & switch, or just complete stupidity. I can't get rid of this company fast enough.

8 years of service without ever a problem. All of my payments during those eight years were on time and complete. Sold house on February 5th, and from that point forward customer service has been frustrating, irritating and agonizing.

Worst company ever. They lost me as a future customer, and I will certainly only give a negative recommendation.

I have been a long time customer dating back t AT & T, Ma Bell, Qwest - this is the Worst customer service ever with Century Link.Called 1-800-244-1111 (number on phone bill), went through the tedious info-gathering hoops, after which, the recording said: "This office is now closed" Mind you, this is at !0:05 AM PST; I called the same number twice more with the same frustrating result. Finally, a friend gave me your Contact Help number, spoke to Domenicia at NC, no help because she "cannot make the right regional connections" and suggested I call again.I re-dialed your Contact Help Number again and pressed "0", then "#', "#" "#" "#" "#" for a total of five times until I got through got thru to Gina in Boise, Idaho ;who was able to help me.Your average 2.5 star rating is way too generous; since Gina finally helped me, Cenury Link deserve a 1 only for so much time, efforts and frustrations wasted and very, very poor customer service - especially with "The office is now closed" recording.

I had the pleasure of talking to Tiffany (I dont know her location) & Nick (in Boise ID) on Friday 2/27/2015. Both were very helpful & proffessional. Tiffany helped me with my bill & services. Very nice informative person!! Nick was in the internet dept He directed me to a video on my wifi. Very nice & pleasant. Very pleased with your csrs!! Thank You for a good experience!

I absolutely agree with previous post about terrible customer care service from Century Link. I have a business account, and have been on the phone for the past hour, in order to correct my long distance, which has disappeared as a service! I have NOT been rude, as the last posting infured as the problem--just frustrated with the waste of my time!

No company is perfect and im pretty sure that the bad customer service you all were getting was probably because you were being rude to the rep that you were speaking to. Being loud rude and using profanity will not make the situation better, it will only make it worse. I'm pretty sure half of you all wouldn't last a day doing that job!

I'm just in awe that this business is still going. First representative sent my modem out without the apartment number, second representative supposedly corrected it only for UPS not to even deliver it to me but to someone else. Last representative tells me to submit a claim to UPS and doesn't even bother to resolve the issue. Which was that I still had no internet services and am supposed to be charged for thus said modem that is missing in action. What a joke. I'll stick with Cox.

Century link has the absolute worst customer service! Wait 53 min on hold being transferred around and each dept. Saying they are transferring you to the "right" department to handle your issue as they aren't able to pull that info up. People working on the phones are rude! They talk over you all the time and not just one person it was the majority of people I've dealt with there. How can they hear a concern while escalating their voice to override yours? Hannah in billing is a horrible representative of Century link.. Im not sure where she learned customer service skills? Who teaches someone to be rude, condescending, to talk over people and then laugh at them ?? I do not recommend anyone get sucked in to their new customer niceness and lies. They will also add charges that you don't order, hoping that you won't notice and just pay your bill like a good ignorant customer. This started happening when their name was Qwest! That name was so criminal they had to change their name cause of the horrible reputation ....well they may as well go back to the old name! They are repeating the same horrible customer service and fraudulent behavior that got them in trouble years ago!! Bye bye Century link....what's the new name gonna be next???

I have been with centurylink now for a little while, in this time a lot has happened.

I started my first account with a 29.95 promotion. The account was billed wrong and I spent many hours on the phone the first month to correct this.

The second month the same thing happened. This time or the next time the issue was addressed by creating a whole new account.

This account was created and has a 29.99 contract. My bill still always stays the same.

I was tired of being on hold for hours to fix this so I went in to the local Colorado Springs Century Link store off of Powers and I eventually spoke with the store manager.

I showed him my problem and he told me that he can "void the contract" but he will "never honor it".

It was unexpected and seemed unethical. I said that I would report it to the BBB and he told me that is fine, it has to go through him and he will never let anything come of it.

I left and couldn't figure out what to do. I stopped calling, the hold times were too long.


I finally decided to call and bear the 2 hour wait time to disconnect. The second person I spoke to asked why. I told her the above as why. She said I should speak to a supervisor.

I agreed, was put on hold, and disconnected about 15 minutes later.

I tried chat, you cant fix problems that way.

So phone doesn't get my problem fixed, chat doesn't either, and then even in person I am told that I will receive nothing.


I am asking for all the past fees paid for the account above my contract price be returned.

I would like for all my late fees to be returned for the amount of time I have had to spend trying to get my bill right and it still not be done.

Lastly, for the reasons above, I also am requesting some sort of TV package for the remainder of my contract.

I wonder what will happen.

Hello very pissed. Off been getting. The run surround from. Centurylink. Signup for there phone internet. Plan. . They connected the phone in two days. Internet otherwise still waiting. For in the router for a week and a half. About to take legal. Actions...centurylink needs to get there head

I have been without phone service since 24 December. Using my cell phone, I called in a trouble ticket. A tech was scheduled to come 26 December but did not show up or call to say he wasn't coming. So . . . . it was rescheduled for 27 December, but again, no one showed up or called to say he wasn't coming. So reschedule number 3 is for today. At this point I don't believe anyone is coming at all. When I call to check on the status of my trouble ticket, basically I get is that it's been escalated, hasn't been processed, someone will come,etc. I feel I am just getting the run around. I don't know what it would take to get someone out here.

Trying to reach a live person at Century Link Is harder than finding a needle in a haystack. I waited for internet help desk for well over 15 minutes on the phone. In the mean time, I tried to send an email to a live person, I did get a typed response but the session closed before I had time to enter my question. ( I am not a speed typist) The problem I'm having is I can't send or receive email on my new I Pad. An apple rep told me to get a hold of my provider. Now if I could figure out how to speak to someone at CenturyTel, I might be able to use my I Pad for emails. Very very frustrated!!

How do I get hold of a real person? I hate automated systems! I tried pressing 0 and saying "agent" but no live person ever came on. I have specific questions I want to ask a human being, and I have not been successful at reaching someone. Please tell me what I must do to reach a real person! So far Century Link has rated a grade of "F" in customer service!

I have never in all my years of owning a phone, had such horrible service. Trying to have a phone transferred from one room to the next in the same building for a 94 year old man that this his lifeline. It took a week of them saying it was done when it wasn't. At the end of the week, they finally cam back to fix and transferred it to another room, not the correct room. I have spent so many hours on the phone, I can't even keep track. I think the worst part was this dear man didn't have phone service on his 94th BD so the family could call him. They also turned around and charged for the whole month, new installation charge and created a new account! I have been successful in getting the one week refunded and the installation charge. The only way to finally get through was this website and the number you provided. For that, I thank you!

I am extremely dissatisfied with CenturyLink and Customer Service. I just received my first bill. I was told I would be billed $39.95 per month, my first bill was for $160.00 I was told I would be reimbursed the fee shipping the modem; that did not happen. I was given a $22.00 discount for the second month, bringing the charge for that month to $39.95, but not for the first month. I was not told that. I called when I got the bill in the mail, but was told it was too late to cancel your service because I only had until 10/24. Since I didn't get the bill until 11/4, how could I cancel by 10/24? I also was not told I was going to be billed $7/mo. for the router. I would have bought my own router and a lot less money. You need to train your phone people to tell us customers THE ACTUAL CHARGES. I am totally unhappy with you.

i have had trouble with the dvr for 2- months wen i call tech support i do not get any satisfaction the last time i called they said if they send a service person i would be charged for it . ishould pay for faulty eqipment ?

Horrible customer service and terrible equipment. Forced me to buy a new refurbished modem which didn't work and they sent another refurbished modem when I told them not to, which ended up being the same original modem that I had before! Trying to straighten out now and it's impossible to reach a real person!

My phone and internet service were disrupted on two occasions over the last two days. Last night, I called CenturyLink and found that if you don't respond to their prompts, you will get connected to a live operator. The operator that I got connected with had a very strong Indian accent, and was hard to understand. They told me that the soonest they could check the issue is on August 6th which is a full week from now. If they expect me to pay for a full months service when it's out for a week, they are going to have a fight!
