My MSN mail account (paid for by subscription) was hijacked recently and I have spent the better part of a few weeks going round and round with the clowns that call themselves support personnel. They actually had the gall to tell me that MSN & Microsoft cares about the privacy and security of it's customers - I'm still laughing. If that were the case my account wouldn't have been hijacked in the first place.
I have received replies from their so-called support personnel that don't even apply to the issue I related to them, which tells me that they don't even read messages before they pick some scripted reply to post. They must paid by the number of responses they can give regardless of whether they are right, wrong, or to the point.
If you have problems with Windows Live do yourself a favor and consult a tomatoe - you'll get just as much of a response from it as you would from MSN/Microsoft. But with the tomato you can chuck it into the bin when you get frustrated with it.

I was just commenting to my dad, who is 89, that in the last century, when he did business, if a business treated you badly you just took your business elsewhere. With a behemoth like Microsoft controlling such a huge portion of the market which you cannot avoid, that doesn't work anymore. On a scale of 1-10 for customer service, I rate them a minus 10. Oh, they did help me once, so maybe I'll up that to a minus five.

Terrible service, there is no way possible through the web portal or otherwise to close a Windows Live account or anything associated with it.

To reach CUSTOMER SERVICE you will need to dial: 1-800-386-5550 which is the MSN CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. WHO TOLD ME TO VISIT WINDOWS LIVE HELP.COM IT IS A CIRCLE OF GETTING NO WHERE.

Terrible customer service on Windows part as I am an employee of T-mobile who is trying to set up a windows live account for our new HTC Hd2 phones and can not access any one to provide help on this issue. They say to go to Windowslivehelp.com but then you can not post anything because you are not yet a user of windows live which leaves you stuck without anyway of fixing your issue. Need better experiences fast or we are switching back to our Android platform where help is easily found.

My experience was identical to "Anonymous 11/4/09 6:30PM" who cried about Cust service from Bill Gates.

first onecare, then MSN, who said they couldn't help, and there was no phone number for free hotmail services.

Additional note: suggested sending in a new incident report via email if you don't get a response within 48 hrs.

I called about a problem I was having with my messenger, he said to visit there website and look for solutions there. When i informed him i had tried searching and couldn`t seem to find anything that fixed the problem he !told me. ``I dont think we can help you. you`ll have to try and find someone else that can walk you through it. I don`t think we can help.`` :O!

I forgot my hotmail password and when i called or assistance because it was free they gave me another number to call. I called that number and they said they couldn't help either because it's a free email! I'm soooooo disgusted. I bought windows does that not count for anything?????????

Anonymous 1/26/10 9:16AM

If you are a free hotmail account user, you will not be able to get any live technical support from microsoft. I was given MSN Help Line 1-800-386-5550. As soon as I identified myself as free hotmail user, they stopped talking further except telling me go to windows live help online to figure it on my own. VERY NICE Customer Service, Mr Bill Gates!! :(

Anonymous 11/4/09 6:30PM

I have just call this number you have posted but they gave me 866-663-2273 for OneCare live tech support. Thank you
