I DO NOT trust the technical support of Linksys and as a result of my recent experience I describe below, would never recommend any of their products! My e2500 Linksys router was working well. In less than 6 months my password was no longer working. I called technical support thinking that it would literally take less than 1 minute to reset my password. Instead, I got a guy on the phone with a difficult (Indian) accent to understand. He asked me for my phone number, which I refused at first --- he would not go further until I provided him with a phone number that he could reach me on. He called me on the number I provided and proceeded then to ask me to give him access to my computer through a remote link set up. Again, I refused and again he would not go further to help. Very reluctantly, I provided him with the remote link ID and password. He then handed the phone over to his "supervisor" who also had a difficult Indian accent and who identified "errors" on my computer which he claimed required cleaning. He promised after the cleaning of my computer, he would reset the router and everything would work again, but would require up to 45 min --- giving him access to my computer remotely for that length of time didn't sound right to me! In addition, he proceeded to mention that this technical service would cost me $90! I told him I could go buy a new router for that cost. He continued to say that the problem would still exist with a new router and said I could pay after he's completed the work. This seemed very shady to me since I was able to reset my password on my old router previously for free. Linksys provided the set up address for my old router in its set up manual, and it was a simple push of a button. Here are my recommendations: (i) do not purchase Linksys products if you think you'll need technical support; (ii) if you already purchased a Linksys product, return it; (iii) if you can't return don't call technical service---they will charge you a ridiculous fee for something as simple as a reset of your password; (iv) try unplugging your router and plug it back in to reset--- this should work; (v) all else fails, use your router like a Frisbee and start over. good luck!
