I gave 20 years of the Best years of my life to my Country, and this Nation turns around and gives me the shaft! I was young and healthy then, now I'm old and disabled, yet I MUST PAY for Everything I receive from this dysfunctional system. I's a BIG MACHINE Built in the good ole USA that's run amuck. It's stealing and providing the worst care in the world for our Vets. Most people think that we all have everything paid, since we gave our lives, we ought to, but it's just the other way around. A lifetime is Not enough to give to this corrupt government, they want more, more and more. If you are considering joining up with our armed forces, Go to another country first! They know how to treat their Vets. All of them are Hero's, not just the few, they Glory-Hounds from Afganwherever! Of course they keep going back! If they keep their heads down, mouth shut, they receive hazardous duty pay, and if they are fortunate enough to get a sliver, then they get a Purple Heart, and more pay. Full coverage here at the VA! They are hero's, and those of us who were serving in the Gulf are Zero's. I don't even qualify for student aid for crying out loud! My life for Nothing! the very people who we were defending America from, just received $Billions$ in Air and ground support while they were and still are Killing our soldiers and civilians, but I cannot go to school, and I cannot have decent Health care or coverage! I have horror stories from the stays I had here in Tucson, AZ that would make you mad enough to storm Washington, after all, they are all just Hired Hands, and they don't care! They don't answer the Call light because, "I don't Care," or "I'm busy!" Best Policy, Avoid it from the beginning, go to college while you still can. Your future will be better for it.

What I say is HOLD ALL VA EMPLOYEES PAY AND BENEFITS UNTIL THEY EXPEDITE ALL CLAIMS! Not just the ones tat are old, my claim is old but try called it new? REALLY? I've been waiting nearly three years for it be done properly! So ALL VARO EMPLOYEES SHOULD NOT BE PAID UNTIL ITS FIXED PROPERLY! Why not? They "say" they are getting our claims done as fast as possible but yet it takes them a year or more to decide on how to get a claim done! The VARO's need to stop hiring completely useless people that have no military experience at all, oh they might have a "family member" that served but until they actually serve they don't understand or have a clue what we went through especially in combat! Even after a veteran like myself does ALL THE LEGWORK GETTING ALL EVIDENCE & INFORMATION, MEDICAL RECORDS, ETC but the VARO VSP's, RO's, DRO's, Supervisors, etc. still feel its necessary to take 266 days to get a claim done. Are you kidding me? I can read a 750 page novel in a week at the most and that with breaks of taking care of the house, kids, and practices. All they need to do is pull their heads out of their tightly wound assets supreme being attitudes and do the job they were hired to do, and not try to screw us combat veterans over! The Cleveland VARO is the absolute worst VARO, they move slower than the dump I tried to dispose of this morning! And their excuse is we're doing the best we can! BULL! If you people at the VA were actually doing you're best them this backlog wouldn't have gone from 200,000 to 500,000 in a years time! Stop blaming the regulations because the regulations have just improved the ability to award the claim. Quit you're whining about you're job! Shut the heck up and do you're jobs! It's that simple, what you're being is the lazy typical government civilian employee that we have grown too accustomed to. Set the example give up you're pay until you have done the job that deserves you to be paid, too many of us veterans rely on our VA C&P payments to live off!!! Stop telling us how we should've of been prepared for financial hardship when were all being paid on average less than a PRIVATE in the service! Get our claims done, we don't honeslty care about you're non- family time because you haven't earned it they way we did! Were still trying to make up for missed birthday, and other important events we missed while fighting overseas! I say that until the backlog is completely over and you've found better ways to handle these claims accordingly you should have to endure the same financial hardships we have endured!!!!!

Anonymity is the best policy here. The process is profoundly sloooow. Yes, applications take years for review and then review again. VA representatives will make the most assuring but completely untrue promises regarding work on your behalf. I have sat baffled and embarrassed for the VA employee as he lied to me assuming I believed him. Notes must not be made on files as I have had the same lies repeated numerous times by different individuals over a period now of abou 18mo. If it weren't so sad and unfair my situation might be laughable. God help them.

I have tried for months to reach someone to get proof of income for my father. I still have not been able to reach anyone.

Expect to be on hold an hour plus each call. they can't tell you much more if anymore then what show up on their website. You can access that yourself. It is a call center where people read from a script based on what questions you answer. If you have an unusual problem, you are dead in the water. Good luck.
Write the V.A. director directly by mail if that is the case. May take 90 plus days for a response if one comes. This is due to the movement for smaller government, therefore smaller support
