I have been trying to get through to someone at Stein Mart for 3 months regarding a return.
Their customer service is non-existent. Did they go out of business and still owe me money??
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM, THEY ARE A TERRIBLE COMPANY,

I used to shop Steinmart quite often before they closed. In fact, so often enough the staff/crew knew my name and asked where I had been if I even missed a week coming in to purchase items). I expressed my sad feelings about them closing to a cashier(Old woman who was a retired school teacher), and she just flat out slammed her hands down on the counter and said to me, Well, you didn't spend enough to keep us from closing." That was so not nice of her to say when I am quite sure thousands of dollars per year would have pleased any merchant. Ungrateful conduct.

Today Oct 21/19 I decided to buy a hat from Stein Mart, Store 00160, Reg 4, Cashier 911335000 at.....
1115 South Federal Hwy., Pompano Beach, Fl....33062.
I saw a Cashier at a counter and went there. I stood there for several minutes as she was on her cell phone.
She then acknowledged me and pointed to another counter, saying OVER THERE!
I went 'over there' and she went back to her phone. She then came to me and took the hat, rang it up and as I was paying by Credit Card she handed me the machine and went back to her phone. Seemed to be texting!
I waited and waited and eventually she turned to me. During this time I was the only customer, and saw a Woman who was dressed in a white blouse and black pants who looked like Management.
The cashier handed me the receipt and I said ' this is the worst service I have ever received', and turned around and the Mgmt woman was disappearing under another counter. I walked over and she was hiding! Yes!
The Cashier said in a sarcastic voice to me., And thank you Sir, with a big smile. She then started to laugh out loud.
Just awful. and the woman didn't come from under the counter.
I am a 70 year old fit man who has shopped here before, as I am a visitor.
So.........this is your staff in display!
Thank you......Alexander Ryrie 905-404-5989.

My best friend was racially profiled in the Steinmart on 91st & Memorial yesterday......by someone of her own race! Now anyone who knows Jody Gilkey, or ANY of the Gilkey clan know that they have never needed to steal PERIOD! Yet this person named Barbara accused Jody (who has elite member status with this company) of switching price tags!
She accused her in front of a whole store full of people. This was painful for two reasons...
1. The last time Jody went into this store was to buy her father a suit just because..no special reason. She never needed one when it came to her daddy.
2. He was buried in that same suit months later.

I hurt for my friend and I am FURIOUS at the way she was treated by a salesperson. Barbara needs to loose her job....she doesn't realize or understand that the very person she belittled yesterday probably paid her yearly salary...that's how much business Jody alone gave to Steinmart....until yesterday

Your shipping and order process is way too long.
Ordered on Thursday my item is still in the "order received" mode!!!!
It's coming from Virginia and I live in Florida.
There's a definite problem in your process!!
I ordered an item from Houzz last Friday and their tracking service days deliver tomorrow!!
I will never order again from Steinmart customer service!!!!

To whom ever: If Stienmart cares about their employess, they need to do more research on the managers! The one at Hillcrest Spartanburg, SC doesn't need to be a manager! She is very rude and talks hateful to customers and the employess!

I shopped the Stein Mart location yesterday in Orland Park ILLINOIS. I was appalled at the lack of customer service I received. I am a friendly/ happy person by nature. When I entered the ladies department I encountered a very attractive, stylish African American woman. I smiled my typical greeting. Holy smokes she's looked at me with the most negative face I've ever encountered. She was rude, snotty, not willing to assist the customers that were shopting and ignoring any contact with customers. Isn't assisting customers her job? Perhaps she needs to find a job where she's not interacting with people. She was miserable and she made my shopping experience uneasy. I will never return to this particular location. This particular associate completely turned me off. I purchased $169. I'm actually thinking of returning my purchase because of her bad attitude and lack of comansion towards her customers. The way I see it, there are a lot of retail choices out there and I'll find another store to shop in that will appreciate my business. Thank you.

My name is Victor V. Cunningham, and I live in the Jackson, MS metro area. I'm a former Merchandising Manager with this company working at the Dogwood Promenade Store from October of 2008 until January 2010. According to all accounts I left the company in good standing. I frequently shop Store #6, when I say frequently I mean at least once a week. I've always liked the selection and convenience of the store as I'm getting off work. Keep in mind I live in Madison and could easily stop in at that store but I choose to come to the I-55 store. Every since the new store manager Lucy has taken over I'm being targeted and followed each time I enter the store. At first it was the page for security and then security from the outside would come in and walk the perimeter of where I just happen to shopping......he later told me that's why he was coming in. I even overheard her at one time tell one of the workers to watch me, I don't know his name but I could tell the urgency in his demeanor each time I would enter even to the point of a look of sarcasm on his face when I would walk in the door, and his willingness to run and ring me up every time I checked out. On one occasion I identified myself as a former manager to Lucy as she stood watching the young man ring me up. After that security quit coming from the outside, but the young man continued to hawk eye me. On last evening 5/15/2015, I entered the store went to the $5.00 room spoke to the workers back there, continued to the Linens Dept., picked out sheets, pillows, and a quilt; came to the front and got a buggy. I stopped and held a conversation with the manager Frankie, proceeded to shop around, picked up a shirt, went to the Shoe Dept. tried on a couple pairs, mind you leaving my buggy several feet away. As I left the Shoe Dept. out comes this white security person......as walked past ties stopping to look at your 1.98 socks he stops within feet of me pretending to use his phone.....I ventured on looking with him in toe. I've been in retail 21 years and know the codes and the plain clothes store detectives. I turned went and got underwear, came back and ran into Frankie, where I cursed and told her I was tired of being followed each time I entered that store by this time he's standing over in jewelry still watching me. I proceeded to check out he walked outside retrieved a buggy came back in and pretended to arrange them. He questioned me about what I said to Frankie as far as my cursing... and that he was protecting his people. I told him I didn't appreciate being followed every time I'm in the store. I told me to while standing off at register 3 to lower my voice and get out if the store I told him I would after I paid for my purchase, which I did $127.37 to be exact. I asked for corporates number which I received and left a message on last evening and will follow up on Monday with another message voice-to-voice with someone there. I left and then I decided I will never shop SteinMart again, I made the block and brought back everything I had just purchased. I was on Facebook last night telling of the account to friends and relatives, asking them to no longer shop there....by the way my grandmother had 14 children 9 of them girls which were avid SteinMart shoppers. This morning I disturbed my lawyer and I will be in his office on Monday morning, because I feel this has been a case of racial profiling and just because I come in every week, I've helped with sales big or small. I've never but on one occasion returned an item and that was because it was cut in the pattern unbeknownst to me or the sales person who rang the night before. At work the next day one of my sales associates noticed it because of the white tee I was wearing underneath. I'm still livid about the incident and I wont stop until I receive justice. My integrity means a whole lot to me. As said earlier I'm in management and the protection of your assets is justified but SteinMart Store #6 has gotten ridiculous in its protection antics. I don't any coupons....and speaking of those I haven't used my Birthday Coupon ever that should tell you something about my wanting your product price or discount really doesn't matter. And another thing I park in the Handicap Parking Space right in front of the store so if I was trying to steal you would certainly have my tag number from the outside cameras and from someone running out and writing down. That really would be stupid on my part.....but we're going to see who the stupid ones are because I'm certainly seeking legal actions with this MATTER! I don't want to contacted by email and this morning I Unsubscribed to anything from SteinMart
