I tried getting some information and was wanting to file a complaint with regards to poor service on my 2008 Pontiac Solstice from the store on in West Vally City, UT. I contact the Salt Lake Corporate offices and spoke to a person named Gina "McFarland???" Who was a very poor listener, interrupted me more than several times. She made it common practice to talk right over my speaking to her and finally ended up lecturing me on how to properly use the services of Discount Tire. I guess in her eyes I was supposed to bow and kiss the feet of this proud and knowledgable person for giving me such divine advise but this was not the impression that I was left with from the experience. This process of rudeness and lack of consideration that was offered only served to infuriate me further. I request the full name of the person and only after requesting it 4 times was it poorly blurted out and I could barely understand what she had said. I also asked for the phone number for the managing national headquarters and she refused to supply the number after 3 requests for it. What a gem this person is in the Discount Tire family and how proud you must be to be paying her to drive your customers away.

I feel like I have to shear this story with other people, this did not happen every day. All this happen at Discount Tires Store Plano. TX. Brought vehicle in for routine rotate and balance, tech inspect my tires tread, it was half way down so good for service. Two hours late they call me and inform me tree of my tires bad some manufacture defect. I went back to store start asking what problem is but tech no want even talk about my tires he was trying get me to computer and start look for new set of tire. This was kind of strange I ask to show what wrong with my tires. We went to the shop and he show me one off my tire on the flour still on the rim ,and on inside side tire crack all way around , so this was defiantly manufacture defect. This is all fun is started , I was not ready to spend $500-600 for new set tires today, I have two more car at home and I can use this cars till I can save money and pay for new set of tires , but what happen next just shook me , I ask tech to put my tire back and I will buy new tires next time , and I already was late for very important meeting , but tech refuse to put my tire back , he said company policy he cannot install bad tire on the car , ok I told I will bolted tire myself he say no again , ok I ask him to install my spare tire so I can leave store , I have full size spear tire absolutely new , never been use , always in the trunk and I always check air pressure , so he start look at my spear tire and he told me my spear tire expire and he cannot install it on my car. Looks like I run out all options , so I ask him how I can get my own car from you shop and leave , he told me I have two options , first to buy new set of tires and second call for tow track and no other options. This was really bad; I start think to call cops. This was really simple visit for rotation and balance and I end up standing on the street with no car and no way I can get home and do not know what to do. So I decide to pay with my credit card and purchase new set of tires, total was $570. Now what I am thinking about this situation ââ?¬â?? this was really ripped off sell, I see this like some kind of scam. Tech inspects my car before he took it to the shop, I did not sign any papers, nobody inform me I can end up in like this situation, and no any sign in the store about situations like this, they just put me at the fact ââ?¬â?? pay for new tire or call tow track . When I got home I decide to call Toyota dealership and ask about my spear tire, they connect me with Toyota adviser and he explain me , they not recommended drive for too long on old spear , but in case of emergency itââ?¬â?¢s perfectly safe use it and drive like manual said 30-35 mph. I been use discount tire for over 10 years and service 5 cars at this store all the time, but I never see some think like this before, this is like big thanks for my loyalty. My car Toyota Camry 2004 and this all happen at Discount Tire Store 8

Okay, I need help. In June I took my car in for new tires. I have a 2007 GT Mustang. I picked up my car and it drove great, just like it had before the tire change. However, when I returned home I noticed one of my custom rims had two long, deep scratches. No big deal. Discount Tire was great and offered to send the rim out for repair. Great! I made the appt. and they took the tire and put the spare on. This was to be for only a day or two at most. I drove on the spare for 4 days! NOT good for a performance car. When it was all said and done, I picked up my car and it pulled to the left. I went right back and they rotated the two front tires (I have different sizes in front and back). Left the store, got home and called them right away. Still pulling to the left. They sent me to Christian Brothers for an alignment. Picked up the car, STILL pulling to the left (after battling with one of the managers, Discount paid for this service). Christian Brothers told me to make an appt. and bring it back, nice as could be. I did so, their alignment rack breaks and 4 days later they call and tell me I have a broken strut!! The problem is the person who owned the car before me changed out the struts and put racing struts on the vehicle!! They said I'm looking at paying over $1,000!! They also said that because I drove on the spare for 4 days, any little bump, etc, could have caused the problem. I call Discount, they said they would talk to Christian Brothers (Discount refers business to them) and get back with me. Two weeks pass, nothing. I call and get some lame excuse that they are playing phone tag. The manager tells me "we haven't forgotten you. I'll call today." It's been a week and no call!! Now, I am lost on what to do! I am a 48 year guy, school teacher with a son with a medical illness and I can't afford to pay even $100 bucks! Someone please contact me and give me advice. I am so down. I've always wanted a Mustang and when my son was diagnosed with his illness, I saved and saved and spent 2 yrs. looking for the right one. Please help!!

I have been a discount tire customer for 12 years and been a huge fan, tires ,wheels ,for a family of 4 family members have used the scottsdale location as well.
However the manager at the north store in Fort Collins should not have contact with the public.Very rude and unprofessional. All the other guys are fantastic and enjoy using them.I sell real estate in town and know the importance of customer service. Thanks

I took my Tundra to 1000 E. Loop 820 location yesterday, rotate, balance & check air. I started looking at my tires tonight, they looked low. I checked them & all 4 only had 12 lbs of pressure in each tire. I've been doing business with Discount for well over 20 years. Discount has just lost a loyal customer. Whomever did the ticket on this job should be gone. I'll never grace your doors again.

So My story is a little different then most people complaining . I'm older but have always liked some kind of customization to any of My vehicles . One being I like My vehicles lowered . I own a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab , lowered 7 1/2" in the rear and 7 1/2" up front . Well being that low You need/have to go with either smaller wheel and tire combo or bigger wheel low profile tire combo .
Back in the day , You could buy any size wheel and low profile combo You wanted , being that 15" wheels are what were popular back then with 195/50/15s.
but NOW ! Discount Tire will tell You what Your vehicle can have and WILL NOT sell You any other tire size that a customer , which has researched size , wanted .
So being that I had NO other choice on buying the size allowed for My Dodge Ram . I went from a 275/60/20 on stock 20" wheels , to a 285/50/20 which is about 1-1 1/2" lower but is also wider which I did NOT know .
I had purchased the tires first then lowering the truck . Being as low as it is I ended up buying another set a few days later because the wider tires rub against the lip of the bed fender wells and got CHEWED UP TO HELL ! so I raised the rear 1 1/2" hoping that would help , but no !
So almost a year has gone by with this set of tires , thinking I'd replace them with a lower profile tire , 235/35/20 which I have seen pictures of other FULL SIZE trucks with this tire size . I was informed by Discount Tire that this size of tire is not rated for safety for this tire/truck combo . They said it was a weight issue being this tire can only hold 1389lbs per tire , which is bad I'm assuming . SO HOW DID THESE OTHER TRUCK OWNERS get this SIZE MOUNTED and BALANCED and of course PURCHASED and from WHERE ? !!!!
So I kept on researching and found another tire size which is 245/45/20s which is now up 1929 lbs per tire . Still not good enough !?!?!?! even tho You can google that tire size and see plenty of full size trucks with that tire size and not one complaint from them .

So in a nut shell DISCOUNT TIRE is tell Me that the tire size they recommended 285/50/20 is a safer tire because it can hold the weight , even tho MY TRUCK IS CHEWING THE SIDE WALLS because the TIRE IS TO WIDE !!!!! compaired to the 245/45/20 which are the RIGHT WIDTH and low profile I wanted . So the load rate for the 285/50/20 is 2756 .
So I cant purchase a low profile tire which is the right height and width but not the right weight/load compared to a tire which is to tall and way to wide but the right load carrying .... which is safer ? wrong weight vs to wide so the side walls are getting cut up ?

I have bought 4 new tires in the last 6 months and they are bald the manager tells me it's a Chevrolet front end problem my truck is a 2011 suburban I have not gotten any recalls on that granted my tires are 22 inch but this manager is telling me its a Chevy problem that is not true he told me even if I put regular tires I would have the same problem these tires are not cheap I can not afford new tires every 6 months

I bought a set of winter tires at the Minnetonka Minnesota store. I ordered them on the phone, set up a time. I arrived on time, they told me it would take 30to40 minutes. I sat down to wait. One hour 45 minutes later I asked them what is taking so long. I found out it had been done an hour ago and know one told me. When I got home there was a message on my phone saying my tires were done. What a bunch of unorganized disrespectful jerks. Dave

I've bought 5-6 sets of tire and 2 sets of rims over the years. Never again will i buy a set from them. I was driving in Missouri back to Texas when my front left tire blows up and shoots me into the center median of the highway. I miss the center bridge by 6 inches almost killing myself. I get to the 121 Custer store in McKinney and they replace the tire but ask me to buy a new warranty for my new tire. I was thinking since the old tire almost cost me my life the least they could do if give me a new set of tires. I bet if I were to get an attorney involved they may change there tune.

I went to Discount Tire in Midland, Michigan to get two new tires on the front of my vehicle. I was told that they would put the new tires on the back and the tires from the back would be put on the front. I told them that I wanted the new tires on the front. They said that it was policy that new tires go on the back. I was IRATE!!!!! What in the hell kind of a policy is this? Who comes up with this stupid thinking? I want the best tires on the front for better steering and better braking. They would not do what I told them to so I left and went to Belle Tire and they happily sold me new tires and put them on the front where I wanted them. I will NEVER go to Discount Tire again!

I will never go back to this place again . what got me is being told that this is normal wear and tear but in the same sentence says he has never saw this before lol what a dummy . I was very disappointe din there ignorance of no concern for my safety or my families .

On Friday, June 7, 2013 I left my home in North Austin in my 2005 Cadillac CTS and went straight to the Discount Tire shop located at 2623 West Braker Lane in Austin before work to get two tires replaced. I ended up buying 4 tires from them, and left immediately after and went straight home to finish getting ready for work. I went to pull out of my once spotless driveway to head to work, and found a huge pool of oil under my car as I pulled out.

I immediately called the shop, and was told by their Assistant Manager, Robert, that they had no oil in their bay, and that the leak must have happened after I left their shop. I called back and got Robert again, and explained to him that when I left that morning I had 0 oil whatsoever leaking from my car, that my driveway was previously oil free, and that at the rate the oil was leaking they had to have noticed something. He THEN tells me that he checked, and there was oil in the spot I was parked at in their lot. When I questioned why no one mentioned an oil leak if that were the case, and how the oil could have managed to not be in my driveway, but to be in their lot, then not in their bay, then in my driveway, even up to this day, all I get is ?I have no idea.?

Anyway, Robert referred us to Darin Hinkle at Brake Specialists Plus, whom we saw the next day, who quoted us for a 10.8 hour job, costing $1500 to replace the oil pan. I took it to another shop for a second opinion and was told the oil pan indeed needs replacing. I contacted Discount Tires back and was told a claim would be filed with their insurance adjusters, and I would be hearing back from someone.

The same day (8th) I received a phone call stating that my claim would be filed and that someone would be out Monday to inspect the vehicle. I stayed home from work that Monday (June 10th) in case someone showed up. No one did. I got a call Tuesday and Wednesday, both were someone from Discount saying that they had filed my claim and that someone would be out ?within a few days? or ?within 24-48 hours? to inspect. I finally said, ?No offense, but I?ve been told that 3 times already.? The rep responded as if I were lying, saying things like, ?Well, I?m not sure what you could be talking about, because I am the only one who can send an adjuster out.?

So not only had I already missed a day of work to wait for someone, but I was then being called a liar. On top of that by now I was paying $50/jug because I have to keep replacing the oil in my car or keep a bucket under it to catch the oil, AND I have to park my car on ramps when I?m parked at home.

Finally, an adjuster came out Friday, June 14th. I happily pulled my car up on the ramps at home and brought out a wheeled slider so he could get pictures. He took some of the leak, one of the mileage, and some exterior images of the vehicle. He then told me I would hear back Saturday, June 15th with either a decision, or letting me know if they need to get the car to a shop and up on lifts to see under it.

Saturday passed with no calls. I called the insurance company the following Monday and Tuesday (17th & 18th) and was unable to get through (either would ring twice and then nothing happened, or ring until someone answered and I could barely understand what they were saying.)Finally I get a VOICEMAIL this morning, saying ?We have concluded that we are not liable for the damage and will not be covering repairs.?

I called them back, and was told told, ?Your leak is an old, ongoing issue prior to your visit."
I said "Based on what?" "Based on our inspection."
"Oh, so based on you taking pictures of the OUTSIDE of my car, you have determined that the oil leak was an old leak?"
"That's just what we've determined, and we're standing by it."

Never before this had anything been said about them thinking the leak was old. This is a flat out blatant lie, and what has upset me the most. I then asked ?Okay, well then how did the leak miss my driveway that morning, leak in your lot, not leak in your bay, then suddenly start leaking again in my driveway??

Same answer ?We don?t know.? Well I don?t know how the damage was caused, who did it, or how they did it, but someone at this shop damaged my vehicle and they are not willing to stand by their work and do the right thing.

I?ve contacted the Better Business Bureau, left a review on Yelp!, the Discount Tire facebook page, and have left countless voicemails that have since gone unanswered. I was able to speak to one rep in claims who kept telling me that their corporate contact info for the Founder, CEO, Vice Chairman, and CFO is public knowledge, but refused to give me the information when I mentioned that I had already looked online. If it is publicly available, why would they refuse to give it to me?

My next step is to keep trying to contact corporate. I am also contacting Austin news channels to get this out in the public, so no one else gets taken for more money than Discount Tire is worth, and if necessary I will be heading to small claims court.

For 25 years their tv ad states; if you are not satisfied return the tire. When I was on the phone on hold, this ad ran.

When I returned the tire the salesmen stated: "I told you man-to-man you will not like this tire." He also mentioned, in his, man-to-man rant, "we don't guarantee nothing. You have spacers on the car, if it gets screwed up we don't guarantee it.." Basically, he was forcing an adhesion contract on me with his terms only. It would be no different if he man-to-man held me down to the ground and made his above statements, forcing submission into an adhesion contract. Take it or leave it! This is not a conscionable act and the Discount Tire Representative was in Dishonor! Pleading to the conscious mind for a 1 sided contract is not requirement of a fair contract because it does not represent both parties. Each party should be in Equity. Timed passed pleading with reason. Then, the rep decided to be in honor and return the money for the tire that was to my disatisfaction. 6 days have passed, account has not be credited. If you can take money instantly form my account, you can return it instantly. This would be a practice in Equity. Fairness!

Very disappointed in the service I just received at discount tire today. Salesperson was very disappointing and rude. I needed to purchase 4 tires and get a understanding on the size of the tires . He spoke so fast he was ask to slow down then he became rude and disrespectful. I visited the cedar hill, tx location and his name was Barron . I have never experience this before with discount tire. I am purchasing my tires at another location.

I dont understand why discount tire cancelled my credit account, I had great credit profile, never late and paid card off before end date. When WELLS FARGO stepped in is when they closed account but they still report to credit bureau as never being late and account closed by credit grantor....they are hurting my credit score? either way I wish they would just drop off my credit reports or quite reporting

About 3 months ago I took my truck into Discount tires located by Lake Mead and Hollywood Blvd in Las Vegas. My front right tire was losing air pressure about every 3 days. My thought was that I possibly had a nail in the tire and was under the impression that it was going to be an easy fix, especially since I had purchased the tires and certificates from that same location. When I explained to the service member about my problem, they took my truck in and came back and told me that it was a bigger problem than I had thought. I was told by the "trained professional" that my tire was not the problem but that my wheel was actually bent and that I needed a new one. As a customer, I give my full attention and trust towards the technician's assessment of my vehicle. I was asked what actions I wanted them to take. The sales person approached me after hearing the news and was asking me if I had considered up grading wheels and tires on my truck. I told him NO because I like the factory look of my truck and don’t like drawing any attention towards my vehicle. The sales person kept on pushing by offering me the Finance card "which I already have" and kept on bringing up my situation in front of other customers as if he was trying to pressure me into buying the wheel and tires! I asked him to find me a factory replacement for my truck. The sales man looked it up and told me that a factory wheel was going to run me about $700 - $800. Then he kept on pushing me again how "with the price for one wheel I can purchase a whole new set from them". I explained how I knew the seriousness of my situation but that I couldn’t convince myself to spend $700 - $1200 dollars at the moment. I became bothered when the sales man commented towards me that "you can’t put a price on your safety and specially the safety of your family". I told them that I will take my chances, but to just put my wheel back on and that I will come back whenever I had the money saved up. I was then answered with an "ok, it’s your choice". In these difficult times, not everybody can dig in their pockets and pull a grand or afford to take on another bill just so that a store can meet a quota or make another sale. I drove the truck for about 2 months stressing out every time and trying to save for new wheels or the factory replacement. I was putting air on my tires about every 3 or 4 days and then the problem worsened and required that I fill my tire daily. I constantly made trips to California with my family on board, "2 daughters age 2 and 7 and my wife" and was always stressed and unsure if my tire was going to hold up. Finally about 2 weeks ago I became tired of my situation and looked up this company in Vegas that repairs “bent wheels". I figured that this was probably going to be my easy way out without spending too much money. I took time off work to drop my vehicle off. I was then called about 2 hours later by the repair shop stating that my wheel was never damaged and that they physically removed and checked all of my wheels to make sure I wasn’t mistaken of which one was said to be damaged. The very next day, I went to the Discount tire on nellis and Bonanza. I was approached by a courteous individual. He asked me what my problem was, I responded by saying " my front tire seem to be low" Right away he checked the thread depth, said the tire was still good and that they will pull it in and have a technician look at it. We walked inside the store, I gave him some requested info, they looked me up in the computer and then he simply asked if I was in the market for new wheels and tires. I replied "not at the moment" and he said "ok no problem, just come see us if you ever are". I handed over my keys and about 10 minutes later I was told I had a NAIL in the tire and that the tire could not be re-paired but that my certificates will cover the replacement!!! Then 45 minutes later my name was called and was told my truck was ready. I owed $0!!!!!! I thanked them and asked to speak to a manager to explain this whole situation. I want to praise the location on Nellis and Bonanza for being true professionals and most importantly BEING HONEST!!! They treated me with courtesy and respect. As for the location on Lake Mead and Hollywood, they put me under MONTHS of unnecessary stress of driving my vehicle. I was lied to!! And in a way walked out feeling humiliated by not being able to afford to fix my "so-called problem" I can’t believe that this store did this to me!! I want the staff to know of how I felt every time I put my children in my vehicle, the feeling of knowing that I am transporting them in what i believed was an un-safe and un-reliable vehicle. It is not a feeling that I will want to put on anybody. When the location opened up I was excited because it is close to my residence. I recommended this place to MANY of my friends and family member who will also hear about this. My wife just visited this same location about a month and a half ago for the same problem of losing air in the rear tire. She was told that she needed all 4 new tires!!!! Her car is a 2011 Audi with 22K miles!!! Luckily she only purchased the one tire that she was told was not repairable. I feel that she possibly was lied to also. I have lost ALL TRUST with that location and possibly the overall DISCOUNT TIRE name! I can NOT wish for this location to be shut down for the irresponsibility and selfish act of an individual.

My son went to the Discount Tire at 25125 Ford Rd. Dearborn, MI., because he had a flat tire. The mechanic took the tire off and insisted that the tire needs to be replaced. In the process he threw away the manufacturing tire pressure sensor. I took the car to another chain, they put the tire back on, but needed the tire pressure sensor. I returned to Discount Tire, asked foe the sensor and they told me that they threw it away. They gave another one, off brand, that the dealer cannot program it. Oh yeah, and because I came back to ask for the sensor, the manager told me to NEVER walk in this store again. Like I want to be a client of such store, with such customer care!!!!

I have been a customer for over 10 years now, I am so disappointed with the service I have received at the killeen TX location located on Central Texas expressway. my husband went in yesterday to get our tires changed before we go out of town, the young man swiped my debit card 4 times, the card declined each transaction, we did not receive any new tires as we needed. I got a statement from the bank showing 3 transaction and 1 on hold to discount tire. I called the bank the bank had me call discount. My rent went late because if this and I didn't get my tires that I needed for my trip this weekend. The young man should have never swiped my card 4 times. if something is Not done about this I will bring my business to another location. Sin. Bernadette Sears

I would like to commend the service personnel in 2 locations in Washington. I have a 5th wheel and put new Carlisle tires on it in 2010. While traveling in Washington I wanted to get the tires rotated and balanced plus I had one tire that looked like it was separating. Brian and Nick in Burlington, Wash were very professional and personable and jumped Our issues immediately. They didn't have a replacement for the separated tire but sent us down the road to Marysville where they replaced the bad tire. We have had nothing but great service experiences with Discount Tire and it continues. Please let the guys in Wash know how pleased we were. Thanks, Jerry King, Pinetop, AZ. "[email protected]"

Great customer service. Justin and Andy really go above and beyond here. I recently went in with an issue with my tire sensors, they spent a full hour trying to help me out.... and I didn't even buy the tires there. I have been a customer for 10years and will continue to be a customer.
