As an occupational health and safety specialist I suggest you stop spraying whatever the people dusting are using in the Red Hook store. It is toxic and is making me sick but Ian especially sensitive. Over time anyone can be sensitized.
Workers would be eligible for compensation and I had to leave early.

I have tried unsuccessfully to inquire about delivery time and cost for Ikea's Rimforsa work bench. I get the automated answering option, choose # 4, ask for the kitchen group and am told there's
an unanticipated lengthy wait; please use our online service, or words to that effect. This is not at all helpful.

No one bothers....
They need one serious competitor. Why don't ex IKEA staff get together and obtain financing to start up some competition.

I am sure the SERVICE will not be worse! I for sure would give them a try.

IKEA Grancia (Lugano) Switzerland.
Quality of cafeteria dropping constantly. Old coffee machines, always breaking down but never get replaced, bad tasting burnt coffee, dirty tables, dirty chairs. Deteriorating all the time. We have furnished 5-6 houses/apartments with Ikea furniture, since this branch has opened. Disappointed with poor attention to the customer and insufficient staff or management. I have no complaints about the personnel working at this branch, but something definitely needs improving to bring it back to what it used to be when Mr. IKEA' was still alive.

I Have Been On He Phone For Almost 2 Hours Trying To Verify A Delivery.

"customer Service"? What A Joke

Posted by Ozzman

My worse experience with a purchase in an established store in 40 years. Call wait times for customer service the 4 times I tried calling were:
76 minutes
95 minutes (To me this was the equivalent of WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS)
33 minutes
18 minutes ( waited and it took 37 with no resolution)
Re-Scheduled my delivery hours without my knowledge or consent
Wrong color door frames delivered

this doesnt work - Ive now been calling for 5 hours - no one answers - the 3 zeros dont work.

Your customer service is the absolute worst I have had to use. Excessive wait time on the phone. Then service rep cant resolve the problem. Very frustrating.

thanks for saving me TONS of time trying to reach IKEA

This does NOT work. You merely get routed to the regular IKEA number and then live in Hell for ever.

Ikea delivered half our order to place of business..they lost the chairs and half the table. on hold off and on for 2 days. No response on where other items are located. I have been calling for 3 days now...either call volume is too high and they disconnect you or they are closed. I am at a loss for this customer service-and this company will never do another purchase again with IKEA.

I just got through! Use the 888 number, choose the option to change your kitchen order, regardless of your issue. A real live person answered!

THE WORST PHONE SYSTEMS IN THE WORLD!!! Two minutes of unavoidable preamble about product recalls, followed by having to enter your zip code, followed by two more minutes of scratchy, crappy, endless menu systems, only to have it finally tell you that they're closed (when it's business hours and they're actually open). IDIOTS!!! GET YOUR PHONE AND MENU SYSTEMS WORKED OUT, IKEA!! PEOPLE NEED TO BE ABLE TO MAKE PHONE CALLS AND GET A HOLD OF HUMANS!!!

Worst Customer Service Ever. > 8 Hours Of Time On Hold (across Separate Calls) Only To Tell Ikea That There Is A Missing Item In My Delivery. Shocking!

Posted by Amam

The WORST. I've been on hold for more than 45 minutes listening to the same automated recording over and over and over again.

Unbelievably bad. The worst customer service I have had in 50 years of shopping. I will NEVER buy another thing from IKEA, and I will encourage my friends and family to avoid them like the plague. We bought over $6000 in cabinets for our business. Not all of the cabinet pieces were available when we made our initial purchase, so we had to pay an additional $100 to have SOME of the remaining pieces delivered. Then I went down to the store myself (a 45 minute car trip) to pick up other parts of the order. To do this, I had to rent a truck. THIS purchase was charged TWICE to my credit card. Reaching them to have this charge reversed is virtually impossible. I must go down to the store with my receipt and talk with a real person. The PEOPLE who work at IKEA are universally friendly and competent--- but their SYSTEMS are absolutely the worst.

Ive been on hold for over 45 minutes. When purchasing my furniture I was told that removal of old furniture was included in the delivery fee. I asked multiple times and even had the employee radio a supervisor to make sure that they would be picking up the old furniture when delivering and I was assured multiple times that they would take my old furniture. Now once Ive finally got through to customer service they want me to make another purchase pay for delivery AGAIN and pay an additional fee for removal because the sales representitive didn't charge me for removal by mistake. And the customer service I recieved was basically useless. They told me i need to drive to the store to talk to them in person because there is nothing they can do to help over the phone... After 1 hour and 45 minutes on the phone no resolution has been reached and I now have to go back to the store I made my purchase at because nothing can be done over the phone. Don't waste your time with calling customer service or shopping at ikea. They have absolutly the worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Beware Ikea's new kitchen cabinet system called Sektion. There is a horrible flaw in its design. Great doors, but a backing that looks like it will fail very easily when you actually try to use it. These cabinets seemed to be designed for people who put nothing in their kitchen cupboards.
I just finished helping my son put together the new Section Ikea Kitchen Cabinets. The back panel is just a flimsy piece of plastic laminate, less than 1/8 thick that slips into a groove and is nailed in place not very securely. For the wider cabinets the backing panel is folded in two and taped together with what looks like package tape. This makes it very wobbly and doesn't connect in any way to anything but those little nails at the edges. There is no bracing on the back, and because of how they are made and installed, they are not against the wall. How long before a can of soup or a frying pan handle pops that backing off? If it was a bookcase that can be easily fixed it would be one thing, but these are installed with countertops on them. It will be impossible to fix them, so there will be a hole in the back of the cabinet for things to fall through into the dark, unreachable space between the cabinet and the wall.
I didn't have the heart to tell my son how horrible they were. He had just spent thousands of dollars on them. I think Ikea should fire whoever designed these and come up with a fix. Customer Service had no advice.

I purchased a Falster table and chairs on Saturday. When I got home which is a forty mile round trip, and opened the box with the table, the screws and hardware were not in the box. I called, but waited so long, that I decided to go to my local hardware store and purchase everything including the wrench. I was incredibly angry, that I had to do this, but I needed the table and chairs that evening. It would have cost me more money in gas to return to the store. I have heard this has happened far too often, but I am so angry. I wait for your reply and a good reason to return to your store.

gets you to the switchboard operator at the call center in Maryland. They can make direct contact with individual stores. Very helpful for me. I was able to check on product availability. The IKEA website displays inaccurate availability information.

I've been calling IKEA Baltimore as well as the other number listed on this website. After following the specific directions the message indicates that I should stay on the line for the next customer representative. This is followed by a busy signal. I have been calling for 3 days now. Multiple times each hour with the same result (busy not music and waiting). On this website it indicates that if you press "0" three times, you will get to an operator. I tried that. Just busy.

I recently moved and requested a catalog . It's going on 2 months and I am yet to receive the catalog. I called the customer service to see if I can request another one or if they already mailed it. 20 minutes later, still didn't get to speak to anyone. Wow! Disappointed! !
