This is the worst fitness center we have ever been a member of. Or, should we say the loudest. Weights are dropped on a consistent basis. None of the employees ever go out of the office and tell anyone to try and drop them slower or more quietly. SOmetimes it is like a loud party there, loud groups of laughing and talking, and machine hogging- as in sitting at the machines on their cellphones and not getting off of the machines so others can use them. We go there for a peaceful workout, not a noisy, disturbing, and difficult to think or relax place to take better care of ourselves. NO rules are flowed there, as no one ever bothers to tell anyone anything!

I tried to cancel a membership back at the beginning of the year and never received a response. I was closing my bank account where the payments were being made and I did not want to have anything negative with the account.
I am now being charged 3 months of alleged backpay even though my contract had ended SEVERAL years ago and I was supposed to be on a month to month basis.

I do not understand why they kept adding months to my account AFTER it did not go through and i was NOT LONGER under contract. I have been a member for several years and simply do not have time at this stage of my life.
Whoever I spoke to said they have no leeway and I was responsible for the full amount. You guys used to be my gym of choice but when I am able to got some personal time for myself I will NEVER join again with Anytime Fitness and I will STOP recommending this gym.

I have used this gym for YEARS and in multiple states and I cannot believe this is how someone is treated especially when I did try to reach out and never heard back.

Cecil at the Stafford Virginia facility is rude and condescending to paying customers. I attempted to contact him several times via email, phone and I'm person. When I finally was able to get him on the line he continued to cut me off and was unwilling to provide requested information to contact his superiors. I was attempting to resolve and account issue and he was completely rude and unhelpful. I have never been this displeased with my customer service. Thanks to that store manager I will never return to Anytime Fitness. My daughter and husband will also be closing their accounts as well.

I signed up for the 21 day challenge and after only three classes within a two week period, I caught the flu. I informed the person Hannah who did my paperwork that I wouldn't be finishing and that I would not continue my membership. I have not gone back to that gym since and this was back in November/December of last year. I have still been charged random amounts since and no one has returned calls and the cancellation apparently wasn't placed. I had to put in a stop order on my account for the withdrawals to stop. I have called and called. Stopped in three times and Hannah wasn't in the office. The number listed to call is the stupidest automated system that exists. You don't even get to talk to a person and you can't skip talking and just type in what you need. It's ridiculous. Although I doubt they'll refund me for the over $300 they've taken, I would appreciate it if they would stop sending me mail and stop trying to charge my account for a canceled membership.

Not Impressed! A word of caution for those living in a van/camper and using the 3 facilities for showering of Anytime Fitness in the Victoria area of Vancouver Island. I arrived on the Island from Alberta in Oct 2022 for health reasons wanting to escape the -35 temps of winter, and of course some fishing. Having suggestions from friends living the lifestyle, and various utuber channels I decided to get a 6 month Membership Plan at Anytime Fitness Langford. I was honest from the start about my intentions of facility usage, and the Membership application information included Address - Mobile Living, which I still have. The staff were encouraging and helpful. Then when they moved to their new location I received this email on Feb 22nd

It is learnt and observed that you have been utilizing our clubs only for the shower facilities. Our gyms are intended to be a place where members workout and only members using the gym as intended may utilize gym facilities.
Using the gym solely for the bathroom, shower, or any other non-workout activities can have a negative impact on members using the gym as intended and therefore is prohibited. As such your membership is cancelled with immediate effect. The prorated amount for the unused term of your membership in the amount of $26.39 has been refunded back to your account.

The very next day I received another email:

We are sorry that you have left our family. We hope you had a great experience at the Club and that we have contributed to some extent in you achieving your fitness goals. We wish you the very best in your fitness journey.

he agreement that was presented to me at the AF Abilene , Tx was void due to the wrong dates written as the term of the agreement. Upon realizing this, I went in in person and told the staff the contract was void based on the incorrect dates and I wanted it torn up, The AF staff lied to my face saying those were not the dates of the term of the contract. I believed they were wrong, but I was not sure what else I could do at that moment. Before I could look into it further, I was injured and not been able to exercise. This was a day or so after I went in person to see the staff at AF. So, I have never used the invalid membership that I've been wrongfully charged for.
I have the original contract showing what I signed with the invalid term dates, and I have since received a copy of from the AF staff that shows that they had the gall to e to write over the original term dates and changed the date on the contract. The dates they said were not the term dates of the contract.
Completely illegal!
I want billing stopped immediately, as well as reimbursement for all charges that have been made against my account from the date the of writing of the contract that was never valid.
It's no surprise that ANYTIME FITNESS has an "F" rating with the BBB.

Anytime Fitness Summerfield Fl. The manager inactivated my key fob with no warning Jan 8. When asked he said my insurance Silver Fit was no longer accepted. I should have at the very least gotten an email, text or phone call. I almost paid for a membership but had a bad feeling. I went to another AF nearby and was told that my insurance was good until the end of April. Very unethical

The manager of auburndale anytime fitness refused to let me get my possessions,$50 headphones my plug my cord for charging my phone and berated me in front of everyone and talk to me like I was a child I'm 64 years old. Told me I wasn't allowed to go in and out like it was her house told me I was not allowed to use medical marijuana around her facility even though I can't work out without it and it's totally illegal the police who spoke to me told me I should call and talk to you even they realized she was abusive and this is not corrected ASAP is going to lead to a lawsuit if she deleted the film that's obstruction of justice that act alone is a felony

Any time fitness COLINDALE Very bad costumer service ! I tried to call them so many times to cancel my membership because I m pregnant and no luck! All time the time when I was calling they was busy and I even been there and guess what ? they was busy and telling me to call next day ! VERY DISAPPOINTED! I don't recommend!

I signed up for Anytime Fitness on 5-21-2022 in Aptos, California club #559. The day I signed up about 5 min after I completed signing and touring the club a customer approached the Gym Manager about raw sewage flooding the locker rooms. I was extremely apprehensive at this point because that is disgusting and shows just how poorly that particular gym is ran. Since I already signed the contract and was not told by the manager (Andrew Gutierrez) that I had a 7 day cool down period to where I could cancel the membership without being billed. If I was told this information upon signing up I would have canceled the membership that day. Ok moving forward a few days after signing up I contracted COVID-19 which led to shortness of breath and trouble breathing in general. With my health situation changing I felt going to the gym would be not only selfish because of the risk of me infecting others but also the discomfort I was feeling from walking up a flight of stairs or even just walking to my vehicle to get to work. With this being said I never used or utilized the gym membership that I recently signed up for (my key fob has never been used and the gym records reflect that). Without me using the gym even once I decided to contact the gym manager and to cancel my gym membership. The club manager contacted me back and told me that in order to do this I would need a letter from a doctor. I contacted the gym manager back and let him know that I didn't need a doctors letter to signup for the gym and I don't think I should need one in order to cancel my membership. I was told by the gym manager (Andrew) that the only way to cancel my membership is with that letter so he refused to cancel my membership. Within a day of that email from Andrew I started receiving harassing calls from ABC Financial regarding non payment on a gym membership that I have never used and that I don't plan on using. Canceling a gym membership for unforeseen circumstances during a pandemic should not be this difficult. I was actually thinking of renewing the membership once I started to feel like myself again but after this horrific experience I will never again hold a membership with Anytime Fitness and will tell anyone and everyone I know to not hold a gym membership with Anytime Fitness.

I need to speak with or correspond with someone that can help me with the cancellation of this gym membership before it's sent to collections and affects my credit. This is the worse experience I've ever had pertaining to a gym and there needs to be something done about it immediately.

I would not advise anyone to get involved with this company. Please go to an actual company that does business with integrity. These people are trash! Stay Away!

On 03/29/21 while staying in Rockville Maryland. I decided to see if I joined an Anytime fitness gym, could I use gyms all over the east in my travels. I looked up and called the 3 closest locations. I was unable to reach any staff on the phone in any location between the hours of 18:00 until 18:15. This only lead to being trapped in a useless automated loop. So I traveled to the 3 closest locations between the hours of 18:30 to 19:20. I was unable to find a staffed location to handle my membership or questions. I knocked on the doors of all 3 and asked members for staff and none were staffed. So after 1.5 hours of trying to joined your gym I went back to my motel and quite unimpressed with your corporation.

My husband and I (Randy and Amy Rigby) bought memberships last year and shortly afterwards Covid hit. We are essential workers therefore feel we shouldn't be around other people plus we have our grandkids some weekends. With that being said, I contacted the gym (Bluffton) where we have memberships and asked them if there was any way we could have at least one membership returned due to us not feeling comfortable being out. I was told that they wouldn't do it. I'm reaching out to you and asking for some understanding during this crazy time? I thank you for your time. Amy Rigby

I submitted both a doctor's letter and proof of moving to my Anytime location in Toppenish, Washington. The location refuses to cancel my membership even though my doctors note show I cannot use the membership for over a year. Then, I asked the membership be moved to a different Anytime gym due to my move, they refused as well. All of these are included in the contract. I am not sure how to move forward if the contract doesn't mean anything.

I have been trying to cancel my membership since July. After leaving several messages with ZERO response I requested a reply on the website for new registration.. the ONLY way anyone would respond!! I told them I have been trying to cancel due to losing my job and because of the virus we aren't allowed to go to the gym. They finally responded, was to told I wouldn't get charged for September, but was charged MORE than the normal amount and then again in Oct. I have paid over $300 for a membership that I can't use and due to losing my job can't afford. How am I suppose to cancel if NO ONE responds??!?! This gym was fined for opening when they weren't allowed and were warned several times prior to be fined!! They were then fined a 2ND TIME!!! Please advise how I can get a refund and get someone to respond!! I know I'm not the only one having this issue. The owner of the gyms here in Yakima and Selah WA do not care!! Please help!!

I would like to make a complaint. Today when I called because a charge appeared on my account with no notice, the staff member Ally laughed when I told her that I am unable to use the gym because of COVID and it was not right of them to make charges without notifying the clients. I asked her to cancel my membership many times (this is after sending multiple emails during COVID to cancel). She told me she couldn't cancel and I explained to her that I am not able to use the gyms services due to COVID and that this will become a legal matter because of how they handled it and laughing at me because I cannot use the gym because of COVID is not appropriate. She finally took the charge off my account when I told her I wanted the owner to call me. This is completely irresponsible way of handling customers. I am very disappointed and am looking into legal action as I stated to Ally if I do not her back from her manager or the owner.

hello. I Like to file a complaint about the rudeness and very unfriendly servive I have recieved in Your clubs In Minot, North Dakota. I understand that the covid-virus situation has made things difficult, But as a veteran of 10 years servive (USMC)I have never seen such disrespect and poor customer service. I cant believe that Anytime fitness cannot make graces for our veterans. Why not allow us to pay month to month?? I cannot sign up for a year contract plus enrolement fees! You dont honor us vets, you treat us like "shit"' when we was the ones that gave you the freedoms that you have to Live in this country!! Why not give us a Discount or a privelage of not having to pay your Enrolement fees and a 50% discount, something!!!

Terrible gym. The owner of the Sherwood, Oregon location is rude to the customers. The gym is always a mess. I complained three times about weights left on machines, weights piled in the middle of the floor, and general untidiness. I received no reply. Also the gym is charging it's members for the month of April in spite of the fact that the gyms are all closed. When I asked about this the owner ignored me. And after really pushing was told very rudely that there would be no refunds.

My seventeen-year-old signed up for a contract without my permission at the Port Washington Wisconsin Anytime Fitness. I told him he needs to get out of that because I did not approve it and he does not have $80 a month and I'm not paying for it. They told him that he needs to pay a $250 cancellation fee. I told them that a seventeen-year-old is not legally binding when he signed the contract.

Hello. I had signed up for anytimw gym in Summerville SC on Berlin G Myer said.

I cancel it back in July 2019. I am checking my bank account for the last 5 months. I am still being billed. I am not happy with the owner of that gym. I want my full refund plus interest. The owner is scamming and stealing money from my account after its been canceled. I have text message from the person who worked there who canceled my membership.

I have been going to Anytime Fitness Center at 7580 E. 9 Mile Rd., Warren, MI 48091 for 2 years now and these last 8 months have been the worsed. They change management just like you change the months of the year. Sometimes weeks. Last May they got rid of my trainer without notifying me. I trained with her for a year. He gave me anither trainer whom got promoted so he referred me to another trainer in August of 2016. My journey from there has gone down hill she kept forgetting about my session so I wen to management this trainer named Tony volunteered to be my new trainer. He's gone. But before that he missed 3 of my sessions. And I haven't neen trained or had a session since February 4th. I spoke to Phil who is the new person in management. He's been prosmising me a new trainer for a month now still no trainer and they still keep taking my money. He said that I will get my money back and that he will have a trainer call me. Well I'm tired of trying to get him to cooperate with me. I've done what he asked me to. My training session with Tony was at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Phil asked me to come in at 9 a.m. he would have someone to call me and setup an appointment anotther month has gone by no trainer has called me or shown up on Saturday. I'm at my wits ends and I'm getting frustrated cause he's giving me the run around. Needless to say just by chance I was at the gym when Phil got there. I informed him of who I was and that he promised to have a trainer for me at 9 oclock on Saturdays. He saysvthey had an emergency meeting at their location on 22 mile rd okay that's find and dandy. No one has yet to call me or show on on staurday so I just workout on my own. But again they're taking my MONEY and I'm not getting my sessions this makes 12 sessions MISSED he has yet to call me regarding the return of my money. Nor has he scheduled for one of his trainers to call me. This will be my 5th Trainer since last May. I don't want another trainer but I can't break my contract. This is UNFAIR to me as a client/customer. I went to the gym this padt Saturday which was April 8, 2017. The lock didn't work no one was at the gym until management showed up. Phil claimed that if no trainer shows up he would make it his business to be at the gym on Saturday at 8:50 since He was the one who changed my time from 8am to 9am. Well needless to say he was a no show just like his so callex trainer. Yes he put my name in that book but NOBODY hasbyet to call me for a training session. I'm getting tired of the run around by management. Please help me out. I want my money for the missed training and I want my contract changed to where I pay as I get trained or cancelled. I've done what I am supposed to do. Again I'm tired of the run around. This coming Saturday will be my 13th missed session. I will be stopping the payments from coming out of my account since I can't get the service promised to me.

I am a member in Indiana and have always had great support and success. When traveling in Florida the gym temperatures are kept at unsafe temperature levels for exercising. Body temperature increases 20 degrees while exercising. The gym temperature at the Lake whales location is kept at 74-75 degrees. This is unsafe. The corporation should have a policy that franchises keep their temperatures between 65-68 degrees for the safety of their members. This is the optimal temperature guidelines by the American council of sports medicine. Very concerned and frustrated that I can not utilize these gyms while I could pass out or have a stroke trying to stay healthy while away from my home gym.
