Terrible customer service. I was routed to multiple different numbers and placed on hold for extended periods of time with each person saying that someone else could help me.

i took the car from avis because of i wants to move from texas to virginia. i took the car and they didn't told us like you have to pay $0.30 per mile. and when i dropped the car they deduct money from my account. that's really ridiculous. if really i want to pay that money they why should i take this car. the flight ticket i ll get cheaper. no body told us, no body inform us. just deduct money. that's what your service is.
how ridiculous is this. if really you want to expand your business then remove that type of disgusting policy. i ll never suggest any body for avis.
if you people really wants to save money then never go to Avis rental car.

I tried six tines ti call the Sacramwnto airport Avis upon seeing oil change alert. Roadside service hangs up on me and the manager does not answer!!!!

Hello Avis,
On June 18th 2016 I rented a car at the Canton,Ga. Location and the Agency Operator was Brandon Henderson and was totally Impressed with the level of professionalism, Kindness and courtesy that I received!!
I would rent a vehicle there again as he tried to please all the other customer before me with the same level professionalism, kindness and courtesy !!

I went on line to rent another vehicle and the Agency Operator that is there now could care less if you rented a vehicle or not!!
There was no comparison!! I will now look else where when I need to rent a vehicle!!

Recently my wife and I vacationed in Arizona. We encountered trouble with our vehicle.We brought the vehicle to the Avis/Budget Airport center in Flagstaff, Arizona.
In short, we were helped by an Agency Manager names Darron Story. Although this was a extremely busy vacation time he was very helpful, kind and went the exra mile to make us feel important and eventually changed our vehicle.
Darron made our vacation complete. I am grateful for the effort and want to express to the Avis/Budget Corporations the fine work and quality employee Mr. Darron Story is.

Hi, a avis rental cars hit my oassenger door, it was a irresponsible driver, i contact the office they said they will call me back its been 2 weeks, am i been ignored? Because i cant access my paasenger door they scrached it and made a deep dent..
I have details of the driver, vehicle, plate number and also 2 following witness with contacts amd details. Where do i take this to??

I've been trying to reach someone in customer service for several days and about 5 phone calls. My request is simple and has to do with a Reward Day coupon. I want to extend the coupon by one week. Its deadline is September 30th.

Rental agreement
I'm disgusted by your shady practice of upgrading when a vehicle reserved and prepaid is unavailable, if it is, in fact, unavailable. I was charged an extra $30 per day for a vehicle upgrade, when it was clearly implied verbally that it was complimentary. These charges were not in my travel budget, and wre not disclised to me. My copy of my contract is not initialed in the upgrade space, but customer service scolded me for not paying closer attention to what we signed.

I am at the avis counter in atlanta. I have been waiting over 2 hours for my reserved car. Reason? No cars.
There are at least 50 paople in line waiting. No kidding, 50 people. They will be here at least 4 hours.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU AVIS.

I think it's disgusting to be put on a do not rent list after having a very bad experience at the AVIS location. It's like Andrea can say whatever the hell she wants and gets her ass kissed after so much money I've invested in your company. Now I can see being banned from that particular location on but not all locations. I would ever recommend your organization to anyone I know moving forward. I would love to contact the president of your company not that he/she would care either. How do you get off the do not rent list. I can be reached after the New Year Thanks!!!

Very frustrating when companies have Premium telephone numbers for persons renting cars from overseas . I urgently need to contact an avis rep . Liverpool Speke airport loc location To extend a car rental for another 4 days. Can someone call me asap Dean Arps

Avis are liars! Do not use them at all!!! You will find additional charges on your credit card even though the customer service rep stated that there the upgrade was "free". BS. We booked a prepaid reservation with Avis and when we arrived to the counter, we waited for over 45 minutes in line. Finally when it was our turn, we were told that they ran out of the type of car that we reserved so we would be upgrade to another car with no fee. Liars. They ended up charging us an extra $19/day. Then of course on top of that, an exra 11.11% "fee" and 9% taxes. We thought the charges were just the prepaid amount because that's what the agent was saying at the time so we just signed the service contract and left. Well I called a service rep and he said because that was part of the contract, and we signed for it there isn't anything they can do. It was over 6 hour flight, it was midnight and after 45 minutes of waiting in line, we were exhausted. Who has time to read the service contract? So please, save your money and time, do NOT rent from Avis.

I rented an Altima (or like vehicle) to be picked up at LAX. I was scheduled to pick-up 11:00 AM on April 15th and drop off 10:00 AM April 24th - a total of 9 days, which was pre-paid by redeeming American Airlines frequent flyer miles. I had been told at the counter, that if I needed the car for a few extra days, I would merely return it when finished and I'd be liable for the regular daily rate of about $30.00, multiplied by however many days I kept the car past the 24th.
After checking-in and providing all required documentation and my credit card, I was told that neither the Altima I rented, nor any "like" vehicle was currently available and that I would be upgraded to a nicer vehicle with no additional charge to me. The agent acted as though he was really doing me some big favor - like he was pulling some strings in order to straighten it all out for me. I very clearly indicated that I chose the Altima for personal reasons and that it was of no benefit to me to be "upgraded."
When I found the vehicle in the lot, it was a bright red, seven passenger, Dodge Journey - NOT even close to the category of car I wanted. I objected immediately but, was told there was no way of telling when or [if] a vehicle (of my liking) would arrive that day and, that I'd be wise to accept the red "minivan." They called it an SUV but, it was seven passenger seating, front wheel drive and an under powered 4 banger engine. For all intents and purposes, it's a minivan minus the sliding doors.
When I returned it on 04/27/13, $242.81 was charged to my card. This breakdown included a daily rental rate of $38.40 per day for the additional three days (this is the rate associated with the "upgraded" vehicle class and not the class associated with the Altima that I originally secured and for which I was pre-paid. I was also charged 11.11% (41.02)fee for renting the car from the airport AND, an additional $10.00 flat fee for the honor of returning the car to the airport facility.
What a scam - renting from an airport facility. Moreover, I was flat out lied to about not being charged for having the SUV dumped on me against my will. Final words are: renter beware of Avis.

Terrible experience! Will NEVER use this rental company again. They are a fraud!
I booked and prepaid for a BMW 3 series to be picked up at airport in Stuttgart, Germany. When I arrived, 2 arrogant, lazy employees at the counter told me that they did not have this model and instead gave me a way inferior compact car with 10,000 miles on it. Their parking garage was about a half mile away and full of BMW 3 series. The counter had not been busy and I was the only customer around. I called them and again they refused to give me the car that I paid for. But I was tired fom a 12 hour flight and did not want to continue to argue with these idiots from the counter.
When I returned the car there were no questions or problems. There was no damage to this car whatsoever.
2 weeks later, back in the US, I receive a letter from the US branch, asking for 75 Euros for damage! I call their customer service here and they do not know why and say they cannot help me. I speak to the "supervisor" who is even less helpful and completely desinterested. However they kept sending me bills for the unknown "damage".
Worst rental company! I have not used them in years because of blown up prices, but ths experience was the last straw. I rent 5-10 cars per year all over the world, i cannot afford such bull in the future.

I am not pleased with avis. We had bad weather in Ar. I returned the vehicle and was charged an additional 107.81. The snow an ice was not their fault. I rent from them often. Very bad experience....In my distress. Taking advantage of loyal. Customers.

I hate Avis!! My friend and I were traveling abroad- "not young" widows who had saved up for a Scotland/England trip of a lifetime. Rented a small,automatic car with GPS from home to be picked up in Sterling,Scotland. Had to wait for a car to be delivered to Avis and ended up with a big diesel Pugeot with a 2004 Rand McNally road atlas handed to us!! The car was gigantic and not easy to drive. We hated it but it was all we could get. Avis ruined our trip and we could get no satisfaction from Customer Service at all. We ended up with a stupid voucher for an upgrade!! Like we would ever use Avis again!! We are spreading the word throughout our friends,family and Senior groups. Avis wasted our money but more important our time and trip

Not a happy camper!! Rented a 2012 Ford Flex in St Petersburg, FL. Driving to Columbia, SC yesterday, the change engine oil soon light comes on. It starts to rain, windshield wipers are no good. I call the Columbia airport of course they don't have a compatible vehicle. They offer me a Dodge Caravan, or a GMC Terrain...not good..other option may be to take this one to a Ford dealer.....checking on that now.... NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!! These are not emergencies, regular maintenance items. I have another 2500 miles to travel for this trip and do not have time to sit up in dealer's shop...I am paying for the vehicle that I am driving, its an upgrade because the original that I had reserved was not feasible for my usage.

The customer service line is like a maze!!! Almost impossible to get a human on the phone!!! Never again!! AVIS will not be my rental car company of choice!!!

Okay,the emergency roadside service says, its nothing to serious, its just a reminder to change the oil....no mention of the windshield wipers....keep checking with the local rental counter to see if a comparable vehicle becomes available..

The trip must go on...but this is unacceptable!!!

NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!

I had a horrible experience on September 11th. I rented a Luxury Car online through United Airlines site. When we arrived in Houston, TX they told us we wouldn't have enough room for our luggage in that car and made us upgrade to an SUV. When we went to the SUV it wouldn't even hold 1 piece of our luggage so we went back to the office and they made us upgrade to a bigger SUV and kept charging us more. Our bill went from $400 to over $700. I will never rent a car from them again!!!

I just had a similar experience from Avis. I was charged $108 plus tax for being ONE hour late with my rental!!! I told them that I would never rent from them again!

IT MAY LOOK LIKE A CHEAPER RENTAL IN THE BEGINNING.BUT AFTER YOU RETURN YOUR VAN,CAR YOU WILL START SEEING OTHER CHARGES ON THE CRIDIT CARD YOU USED. THIS WILL TAKE PLACE LONG AFTER YOU HAVE RETURNED THE CAR/VAN.THIS IS THE FIRST AND LAST TIME ANY ONE FROM OUR GROUP WILL USE THIS COMPANY. THIS IN THE ONLY RENTAL COMPANY THAT WILL EXCEPT YOU TO HAVE THE CAR/VAN DETAILED CLEANED BEFORE YOU RETURN IT.WE RENTED IN NEVADA(DESERT STATE)WE ARE BEING CHARGED $250.00 TO VACUUM THE SAND THEY DUMPED OF THE FLOOR MATS ON TO THE CARPET.WE ARE DISPUTING THIS.

What can I say, simply the worst customer service experience of my life. I am a young woman, 8 miles out of Boston Logan and the tire almost falls off the car. I broke down on a bridge in a very unsafe area. I called the office and asked for assistance and later I found out that they didn't even turn in the call for 90 minutes. in the mean time my husband is trying to help me so he calls the office and speaks with Manager Steve who says he will send another car. LIES! they never intended to send a car! The state Police comes by and says I am parked in a very unsafe neighborhood and I need to move. I CAN'T! Steve the manager keeps lying to to my husband and telling him that someone is on their way. 2 1/2 hours later the tow truck arrives.
I get back to the office and Stevey is 25 and starts talking sweet to me! Are you kidding!!!! I rent 100+ days a year with and I am done. This is the last straw. I am going back to Hertz and I will pay a little more and get MUCH BETTER SERVICE.

Thanks AVIS for a memorable night.
