Went to goodwill today to get some books. Picked out 1 for the baby, 5 for my son, and 2 vintage cookbooks for my teenage daughter. My son is in 1st grade and can read simple sentences. I got him 4 Narwhal books that are for young readers(says it on the back of the books). The cashier said that 3 of the 4 books that where all from the same series where adult books. I told her "no these are childrens books and where in the childrens book section". Then proceeded to ring them up and told us the price of every other book and asking "you still wsnt it?".This women was so rude from the moment we walked in and every interaction we had with her. She kept making grunting noise under her breath like she was annoyed. After she walked away, I tried to talk to the other cashier and she came back over and gave nasty looks and grunt some more because I was telling the other cashier how we where overcharged and how rude that cashier was. This was in kernersville, nc 3/13/2024 The receipt says Dkirby was the sales rep. That women either needs to fix her attitude or find another job.

Why does goodwill no longer allow you to return items to a different store if you have a receipt and in the 3 day window. All this stuff being donated and then the price put on items is ridiculous. Not to mention you are getting picky on what you except. But you'll allow a soiled, broken smelly couch, rugs and other stuff that should be put in a dumpster to be tagged and placed out on the floor ro be sold. Tanktops and top that cover just your boobs sold for a shirt price. Not all shoes are marked fairly and many needs to be thrown away. Someone need to check keep an eye out when putting merchandise out for broken items safety reasons.

I am a long time goodwill shopper and have donated many things over the years . However .. goodwill seems to have lost touch with basic morals and intelligence over their no price tag no sale policy .
Why does it seem worthwhile to infuriate countless customers who are there to buy items goodwill gets for free ..only to be told if it has no sticker tag..no one can just go fix it..it can take days .
Meanwhile another sale is lost ..another customer is red faced in disgust .
It's horrible to put employees in this position and the most stupid sales and public relations concept ever to manifest in a thrift store.

It's supposed to stop thieves from switching prices ? Then stop using stickers that fall off . Have a general barcode for certain items ..and just be fair.

Go ahead and keep selling the free merchandise for your own profit but stop treating employees and customers like serfs who don't deserve to buy what is on the shelves or to be able to call a manager to settle any questions.
All other stores figure out a price when needed. They don't block the sale. Why is it only goodwill?

I was told it's to keep track of sales. They barcode is king . It's Always the computer that can and will fail a business due to faulty stickers .

For a good idea ..be reasonable . Start showing appreciation for all the customer base that keeps you in business .

Note but crooks. I shopped at Goodwill for many many years
Always finding great deals for quantity goods. then you got greedy might not have been so distaste if you kept your mission alive. But now because of your lack of integrity I won't donate anything to goodwill. Your hunger for money for items that are DONATED to you is revolting.?I won't shop there anymore because of your blatant dishonesty and incompetence

Sold me a broken VCR even though they told me it worked. The supervisor did not let me exchange it even though they told me it worked and even tested it in the back. I did not see them test it. The only good part was the electronics guy who was very understanding.

I have been thrifting most of my life and love it. I noticed an increase in shoppers at the thrift stores and said to my husband, the prices are now going to go up because of the increase. Low and behold they have certainly gone up. Greed, greed and more greed. They have joined the club. They have taken all the fun out of it. The points system is crazy and I have had many arguments with trying to get my points which I deserve. If an item doesn't have a colored tag, forget it, it is not being sold. How much money you lose by doing that is unbelievable. Some of the staff is very rude. Items are not being put out on a regular basis. I will not be donating there anymore either. It's a shame, but money talks and that seems to be what is more important to them now. Very, very disappointed. They have lost a regular customer in me!

Prices lately are exponential. I found an item that had an original gage of $34.99 (an older tag) but nevertheless. They had the item marked for $49.99. I am an avid collector of the item and it was not worth $49.99 especially for someone who isn't trying to spend an arm and a leg on home decor. They tried to tell me the price of the item increased and was really worth 3x the price they marked it for. According to the manager they looked it up and that's what came up. Sure pieces do but not this one particularly this isn't overly valuable. I loved the piece and splurged but feel ripped off. Goodwill was supposed to be for people who couldn't afford items to go and get items for cheaper. Very disappointed in them.

Flie a complaint the supervisors at Goodwill telling me what I can and can say

There is a store in Ohio that had an employee losing her hair because of cancer treatments. The manager refused to let her wear anything on her head as she preferred. I think that is disgusting behavior for any employer. Where is your compassion? I'm done shopping at Goodwill and this story is flooding Facebook and other social media.

FYI, went to Effingham, IL store Friday, August 11th at 5:45pm to drop off 2 boxes, sign on door showed "closed". Went inside to ask if they weren't taking drop offs. Girl working register speaking softly, can't hear her. "Customer" (obviously a worker) chimes in to say store closes at 6:30 & drop off at 6. I stated "it's a quarter till!" She then turns around mumbling & basically ignoring me. According to the website this store is open till 7pm everyday?!?!?! Thought you should know.

I was at the East Norriton Pa location (on Dekalb pike) July 29th, 2023 at around 3-4 PM. I was double charged for a dress. I only got 3 items, the cashier even confirmed verbally that I had 3 items. A dress, a hairbrush, and a 2 piece dance set. I was provided with a receipt that showed the 2-piece dance set, the hairbrush, and the dress charged TWICE. When I went over to the manager of the location, I was told that I could not receive my money back. Even though this is NOT a return, the money was literally stolen from me as I was double charged for a product due to the cashiers error. I was told to contact higher-ups at the company as there is nothing she could do. I am frankly angry as the Goodwill company has stolen 12$ from me, that I need, because of a cashiers error. Everybody makes mistakes, but stealing my money and then failing to correct this mistake is horrible. It was also nearly impossible to find a way to contact Goodwill online and the store manager would not directly give me a number to contact.

Goodwill in Circleville, Ohio is a joke. Forget the fact that the prices they are charging are RIDICULOUSLY high. The staff is beyond rude and unprofessional. I have been sexually harassed by employees, made to feel like I was a common theif (NEVER STOLEN A THING) Told I couldn't use the changing room just after other women did. I'm so sorry but they are a nightmare

Yesterday I visited the Goodwill store in Napoleon Ohio. Yes I did purchase some items but I have never seen this store look so awful! It looked like it had been ransacked! It was in total disarray! So unorganized, stuff all over the floor, it was disgusting ! It used to be one of the cleanest, most organized stores until this past year. Unhappy customer

What's with the policy of only giving senior discount on Wednesdays? I'm still old the other 6 days a week.

The online goodwill in Fort Worth, Tx decided to discontinue local pickup at the online location. They failed to change the format online that would indicate that local pickup was no longer available. Consequently, when the customer bids on an item at the local location they are totally unaware that they will need to pay shipping costs. For example, I purchased an item and then attempted to pay for it there was no option for local pickup, therefore they make you pay for shipping even though they have no message to the customer that indicates that they have discontinued local pickup. They need to indicate that there is no local pickup on each item that is up for bid because if I knew I would have to pay for shipping then I wouldn't purchase the item. Apparently, the online staff was as shocked as I was. Also, they failed to tell the staff about the change until it was already implemented. The staff was very accommodating and returned my shipping expense. This change was an epic mistake on the part of whoever was responsible for this decision.

Good evening this is Lisa M. IAM A REGULAR SHOPPER AT GW IN SOUTH HACKENSACK NJ OFF 46. I like the store but love the help of at least one person He told me his name is Paul G. He helped me with bringing in a few carts of donations that I had ( I ask the cashier if someone could help me cause of my back problem). I heard them call him on the walkie thing. He came with a smile on his face, asaid good afternoon how may I help you. I told him and we did what had to, then he said thanks for the donations have a great day, see ya soon. I had found two throw blankets grab both of those one of those was missing a tag at the Harrison Arkansas store. I asked one of the ladies if she could go and put a tag on it and she said that it would not be back on the floor until tomorrow well I don't live here I live in another county. This happened at the Rogers location about a 2 weeks ago I had found a dress for my daughter's dance at school and it took the girl maybe 5 minutes to go and get a tag put on it because someone had pulled it off so why are these locations each treating people different are they not supposed to all have the same rules and regulations I will not come back to this location in Harrison ever again and I spend a lot of money at Goodwill and I will probably not go back to any of them after this account

There was a fleece blanket at your store that came from Walmart. Walmart sells them for $3 - $4 and you are selling them for $10.99!!! That is simply ridiculous. What is the reasoning? I also used to like to shop the clothes but not anymore because a person cannot try them on. Are you going to bring back fitting rooms?

I was shopping at goodwill today (12/2/22) at the I 30/Beltline store in Mesquite, TX. The 50% tag color was purple. Upon going to register, cashier Shavannah, told my friend that her item was pink. I said that it was a light purple and should be on sale. I had been to goodwill plenty of times and know there are different shades of pink and purple tags. The cashier said no that I was wrong and if I wanted to grab other items to compare she would prove it. My friend didn't want to hold up the line and offered to pay full price. Cashier kept escalating the situation by saying that she wouldn't check me out and when my friend tried to say that it was uncalled for and then she threatened not to check her out as well. She then told us that we were not allowed back in the store. And then said what do think that you are better than me? which I could only imagine was a racist remark. We had 2 customers come out after us and said she was out of line and that we did nothing wrong.. IDK if she was having a bad day but you can't treat people like that. Thank you.

I wish to remain anonymous. As a token of good measure, I decided to give Goodwill on Sunnyside Road in Lawrence Indiana another chance. Immediately, the attitude of the workers were horrible. I felt like I was being discriminated against entering the store, while I was shopping and after I had left. I have NEVER felt more ashamed that I had been when being viewed by employees who wanted to speak with insults. What will it take for Goodwill to revise and revisit their employment handbook to amend this dissatisfaction? Will it result in a lawsuit for customer discrimination because I wanted to shop and was being belittled by employees? I will be filing a considerable complaint with the Better Business Bureau For future reference. The Goodwill in Lawrence, Indiana either needs to revise it's employee handbook to not allow ANY discrimination from the employees. I am aware of Goodwill's handbook policy and that ANY and all discrimination is not tolerated not should it be condoned. I would dislike to leave a note to other people who are shopping informing them not to shop with Goodwill or provide sufficient positive feedback. I will be notifying the CEO of Goodwill with my complaint. If the CEO doesn't comply with the employee policy, I will file a complaint with the Indiana attorney general for employees discrimination and prejudice towards me. Please review this complaint and assist me with resolving this matter. Thank you

This comment is specifically for the College Drive, Baton Rouge store. First let me say the staff is always friendly and helpful. The thing I find is problematic is the special pricing of items, I would say about 75-80% of all ladies merchandise has a special price tag. It used to be those were higher end items, not any longer. Forever 21 and Shein are not as they are a lower end brand. 98% of all jeans are priced at $9.99 or higher. I have been a costumer their for about 10 years and spent about $200-$400.00 per month. In the last 6 months I have probably spent $200.00 total. I have gone to others stores in the Baton Rouge and Denham Springs area and they are not using the same pricing structure. Is it a new manager, if not the person who is setting the pricing is doing you a dis-service. There are a group of ladies I see shopping everyday on their lunch hour, they all have the same complaints. Thank you for listening.
