I cannot get to customer service without a card. I need to resolve an account paid off 3-4 years ago

I am currently a victim of identy theft that involved my capital one checking & cedit card account since November..know one has helped me recover, and your institution keeps charging me more fees.

I had applied for a loan, and gotten turned down. I have received phone calls several times a day for the past two months in regards to the application. I have requested at least five times to be taken off the list as I have gotten what I needed else-where and I am still receiving phone calls. I am at the point where I am considering filing a harassment charge if they continue to contact me.

After 30 years. I am closing all my accounts, personal and business as well as debit and credit cards because Capital One Customer Service has gone down hill and fast. Specifically, the bank manager makes promises and doesn't keep them, ignores personal concerns, abuses his perceived power.
Making calls to "customer advocacy" takes a half an hour of transfer calls to people who DON'T CARE. This word must travel fast to any potential customer. AVOID CAPITAL ONE AT ALL COSTS or it will cost you.

I use to have 3 credit cards with capitol one..paid them all off in full...so that was at least 9yrs ago...so now I have been getting pre approved applications for their card..asking me to be a customer again...so just to see what would happen if I did reply to their request using a reservation code and access code...which is suppose to be pre approved...they of course denied me...so why do they send these things out? makes no sense...

I was at Walmart Bradenton,fl April 26th. Charge $480.15 and my card was denied (Venture Rewards) I luckily had another card on me to charge after the embarrassment,

I lost out on my rewards of 1 1/4 mile per dollar. Can you please compensate in any way,

Thank you,

Lol. They call me 15 times a day every day from 9 am to 9 pm. My card was a transfer from Orchard Bank, and I had ALWAYS paid on time, but during the course of the transfer I missed a payment before I was able to register with CapOne. Since I missed a payment, I was told my account had to be brought *current* before I could get online access. All of a sudden I owe more than $300 to make my account current, with no explanation and no paperwork to back it up (I was paperless, but without online access how am I supposed to see anything?) They proceeded to bill me late fees and an account that was in fantastic order is now, well, crap.

So then, I get my tax refund, and can afford to pay these jerks, so I figure I need to stop this insanity RIGHT THIS SECOND and call and make the silly payment. They win, I'm tired of these friggen' phone calls. So I call. And get "well, the guy you need to talk to isn't in the office until tomorrow, and no, you can't make a payment right now." They call me 15 times a day to make me feel horrible about not being able to pay them, and then when I can, they can't take my payment. HA.

Do they realize how crazy they've made me? And how much I despise them right now? Probably. Can't even PAY them to go away.

WORST CARD EVER. Was fine at first until I came back from my vacation to find out my job was closing in a week. Late fees added on, couldn't get any help to stop it. After getting a new job had a few medical emergencies, messing up my ability to keep up with pay again. In the meantime my fees and rates went up, and up, and up.

Now I am disabled, unable to work. They've seized my "assets" (a whole $1.30! hope that's enough!)Everything i own is second hand crap.

Worst thing is, I want to settle and I have NO idea what my final bill is. And NO idea How to make it happen!

They are great at one thing, making me live in terror of the phone. They harass like nobody's business. and their Associates seemed to feel free to LECTURE ME about "responsibility" of payment. WHEN I CAN"T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

It was a very small limit too. But due to their sneaky "fees" they fix it so you can't pay at all and go over. AND THE FEES ARE WHAT ALWAYS SENT ME OVER.

Be very careful if Capital One offers you a settlement amount. I reached an agreement that I would pay a certain amount. They agreed that if I could pay a little more they would not 1099 me. I paid. Then I got a 1099-C anyway. I contacted them, but it is still not settled. If they don't uphold their agreement, I'll have to pay income tax on the discharged amount. I am disabled waiting for an SSD hearing. I've had no income for 2&1/2 years.

The pressure they put on me was, in my opinion, close to harassment. I told them I am disabled and that my house burned in Jan. 2013. They kept calling and calling even though I told them I was ill and it was my legal right to request they reduce the frequency of calls. They also repeatedly phoned my former employer despite my telling them I no longer worked there.

You have been fined $60 million and had to reach an additional $150 settlement with the Consumer Finance Protection Agency. So why are you doing this now? I thought you had to create a special program and present it for approval before you could. This ad is as bad as the ones you were fined for.

Capital One is a great company! Their Zero Fraud Liability program has really saved me some prolems with unauthorized charges on my acounts in the past! I spoke with an extremely knowledagble and friendly rep earlier this week named Danielle She was great, what a great asset to Capital One.

Very Poor Communication. Promised A Call From A Manager Today Ref My Credit Card Application. Gave Her All My Details And Nothing. My Credit Ran Out On My Mobile So I Am Left Not Knowing What Is Going On. Not Much Confidence In Them If This Is How They Deal With Their Customers

my experience with capital one was good in the way they speak friendly but its still bad by providing wrong information.

i applied for credit card and for over 2 month i have been told that my application is approved but after couple days i check where is my card they say its still pending for approval. this is happened 6 times already, so what do you call this??

regardless there friendly talk, hotline is fairly educated, i think they are not even graduated from high school,
for those from hotline defending them selves or acting like happy customers , stop that because we all know you are customer service not a capital one card holder.

in short, capital one customer service , speak friendly but not educated enough "Low employment standers". they easily provide wrong info.
and they don't keep there promise and never give you a call back.

Hey everyone if you have a Union Plus Credit Card or GM Card or even a Teamsters privilege card , Capital one is refusing to give credit line increases to to people with good credit & are systems automatically decline, card members for no reason just because are mangers at are offices have encouraged us to lie to customers and instructed us not tell them the truth they reward us if we come up with good ways of telling are card members lies & they reward us with bonuses up to $1000.00... Sorry I forgot to include Saks fifth avenue master card house hold bank, fifth third Bank (sub prime) orchard bank, and HSBC Credit cards that where not org140

Capital one is a sucky company to work for and bank with. The employees steal identities and I had to go through a whole long process to get the charges taken off my credit. They (corporate and mgmt) treat their employees like crap and don't deserve to be in business.

Dealing with Capital One customer service is absolutely horrible. Their representatives are lacking general knowledge. I wonder if they use a third party call center? It is always "may I put you on hold for a minute,my managers are not taking calls,if you have a complaint you may wright to" never another number or extension or even a website are mentioned. Absolutely, horrible and to make matters worse nothing has been reolved and you are left with trying to find an alternative number,e-mail address etc. Absolutely ridiculous!

I'm a Capital One Employee here in the Philippines. I place my comment here not to exonerate capital one from all of the negative thoughts I've read here but to say that its (Capital One) a good company especially the associates. I just like to express my deep frustration to customers who tend to be unprofessional and rude everytime calling us without considering that we are here to help them (customers) in EFFECTIVELY RESOLVING TRANSACTION CONCERNS. But unfortunately a vast number of callers (too many to mention) are yelling and speaking profane language to my co-associates even myself. How can we guys help you in the ways we can possibly be if you don't even deserved to be help. Capone associates are very nice and friendly and always ready to render true service. It's not Capone's intention if there are transaction issues exist on your account that's why we have what we call CUSTOMER SERVICE to cater all your needs- business needs and more importantly EMOTIONAL NEEDS. In addition, do not put the blame to associates, its not their intention too. We are here to diagnose every account issue you may have. Do not ruin the procedures set by Capone because we have circumstantial and substantial methods on how to help our customers. Just follow them and everything will run smoothly.

And dont forget to read the Terms and Conditions of Capone prior to sign it to avoid massive confusion.

THANK YOU!!!

CARLISLE from Philippines

I was with HSBC for several years. My card got "transitioned" to Capital One, not at my request. The transition period ended in July (according to "James WOB510"). I requested a credit limit increase and received a letter dated Sept 25th stating that they could not process this while the account was in Transition. I called to ask when the transition period would be over so I could make arrangements, they didn't know, and refused to pass me to a manager even though they couldn't answer my question. Time to go find another bank I guess, I'm going to love what's NOT in my wallet, that's for sure!

In November 2012, I sent an electronic payment to pay on my Herberger/Bon Ton credit card previously issued by Captial One. The BonTon/Herberger credit card was sold to another bank(Commenity Bank) in July 2012. I didn't realize Captal One was no longer the company where I send my monthly payment. Capital One cashed my $200.00 check sent for a credit card they no longer issued (check sent and cashed verified by Wells Fargo) and will not return my money to me. I have been calling every month since November talking to customer service representatives only to give me the run-around. I accept that I should have noticed on my bill in the 1/2 inch font that the billing address had changed during the(2) month grace period, but I missed it because I just pay monthly on-line. No phone call or letter was sent to address the continued payments to the wrong address, they forwarded to the new bank for (2) months and then just kept the last payment. I just want my money back! I will not stop contacting Capital One until I just get my money back. Why is this so unreasonable or comlicated?

I was able to speak with a representative named Billy. I was worried since my card has been used without my authorization. Billy fixed things for me, she stopped the card and removed the charge. I just received my card and credit today. Kudos to Capital One!

People stop complaining! Reading all this complaints about Capital One agents and Capital One itself really shows how uneducated you people are. First off, if you are not satisfied with the charges that were placed on your account maybe you should Read the "Terms and Conditions" first before signing up. That's what it is for and apparently that only shows you people sign up for something without reading the terms and conditions beforehand.

Second is "Stop being rude to representatives". Customer representatives are there to help us out, it turns out that most of us are trying to destroy those people who are on our side. Remember Customer service Representatives are always on your side. Furthermore try being on the other end of the line. It is not their fault, they don't even know we (individually) exist till we talk to them.

One last thing, if you were not able to receive your card, don't take it against the rep or capone. Once they mail out cards it is no longer on their hands and it may be the post office that may have issues.

Furthermore, CapitalOne is an awesome company. The employees are good as well. It is us who tries to make them look bad.
